Sources close to the Kremlin say that, after several weeks of consideration over the summer, Russia’s president seems to have chosen to escalate his conflict. What might that entail? https://t.co/CqjTdbYxuS
JUST IN: 🇺🇸🇨🇳 US "almost started a war" with China following inaccurate AI intelligence report, CNN reports.
• US report claimed a Chinese ship was carrying nuclear weapon components in the Middle East.
• Armed US military troops were preparing to board the vessel, with military planes already in the air.
• Officials caught the error right before the operation after realizing an analyst used AI to generate the report with false & baseless claims.
If an alien had to describe the Israeli Palestinian conflict in the most generic way possible, it would probably sound like this:
Two groups are fighting over the same piece of land.
Both have historical, cultural, and emotional ties to it.
Both have harmed each other, not equally, but undeniably.
One side is roughly a thousand times stronger.
That stronger side proposes splitting the land so both groups can live there.
The weaker side rejects any split and insists the land must belong exclusively to them.
No compromise. No coexistence. Only total ownership.
From orbit, stripped of slogans and flags, that is the conflict.
This message was sent by the owner of a Jewish-owned bakery in Sydney Australia to it’s patrons yesterday:
“Just to let all of you know before we let our [broader] no community know tomorrow, Leah and I (with significant input from specialists) have made the heartbreaking decision to close the bakery effective immediately. We’re hoping someone will buy the asset, even if it is no longer a going concern.
After two years of near constant antisemitic harassment, the pogrom at Bondi has made owning and operating a publicly-Jewish business untenable. The risk of escalating and dispersed anti-Jewish violence is extremely real, and our business (as well as me personally) had come up in the course of police investigations. We have been in contact with NSW Police, the State Crime Command and the AFP on this. As has been experienced by vastly too many people around the world, a popular and high-profile Jewish bakery-cafe presents an easy target for those who want to do violence, and there is no feasible way to make it safer in any practical way without driving away customers. This was the philosophy of the second intifada, where pizzerias, clubs, playgrounds and cafes were the most common targets. Businesses like these will be part of whatever happens next, now that performative and hateful calls to ‘globalise the intifada’ have been realised. That creates a genuine concern about safety will drive customers away, for entirely forgivable reasons. Understandable fear, and the real potential of harm, have killed our dream. Anyway, we just thought you need to know.
The Intifada is globalized.
Think hard about Toronto.

Time to get serious
That is, if you give a damn.
I am 57 today. This is post 1/365 this year. It's time for a peaceful revolution. It's time for human rights to trump religion. And It's time for the plutocracy to adjust themselves before their armies turn on their very masters.

In the past few months the Liberal government has now rescinded the carbon tax, capital gains tax, and the digital services tax. Ironically it seems Trump has saved the Canadian taxpayer more than any domestic politician has.
Canada’s decision to rescind its Digital Services Tax and return to the negotiating table is the right move. An encouraging and constructive step toward a mutually-beneficial agreement.
