Speaking to the media after the Islamabad High Court's decision on writ petitions filed by Imran Khan and Bushra Khan's family members was announced, Barrister @BrSalmanSafdar said the decision confirms that Imran Khan and his wife are indeed being deprived of human contact and held in isolation.

The order directs a mechanism, in line with jail rules and applicable laws, to end their isolation and provide meaningful human contact, access to reading material, and meetings with family members and legal counsel.

“It is a fact that no record can negate that since March 25th, 2025, the order of the full bench of the Islamabad High Court (directing twice weekly visits with Imran Khan) has not been acted upon even once.”

In a press conference addressing the "misleading, incorrect, and untrue” claims of Pakistan's Minsitry of Information, Barrister @SalmanARaja set out the following facts regarding Imran Khan's sisters visits with him in Adiala Jail:

Since October 16th, 2025, for over 10 months, until the Supreme Court's intervention on August 18th, 2026, Imran Khan's family members have not been allowed to visit him.

One of his sisters, Dr Uzma Khan, was permitted a brief visit on November 4th and once again on December 2nd, 2025. Since then, none of his family members have been able to see him for nearly 9 months until August 18th.

These are the facts. The claims of Pakistan's Ministry of Information are misleading, at best, in an attempt to divert focus from the prolonged isolation of Imran Khan in solitary confinement, with no human interaction, in an egregious and wilfull violation of local and international laws.

When Imran Khan’s own son is sounding this alarm, the world cannot look away. His health, safety and fundamental rights cannot be treated as a political game.

British peer Lord @ZacGoldsmith has called on the UK Foreign Office to take a firmer stance in support of imprisoned former Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan, describing the situation surrounding his detention and medical care as deeply concerning.

Speaking to @TimesRadio, Lord Goldsmith, former environment minister and Imran Khan’s former brother-in-law, said:

“It is just no doubt that this is a political thing. This is designed to keep him away from power in order to protect the interests of those people who are currently holding on to power in Pakistan. It’s really grubby, really quite shocking, and for those of us who know, respect or love Imran, it’s deeply distressing.”

He added that “the Foreign Office needs to be much more robust” in leveraging Britain’s relationship with Pakistan to address Khan’s predicament.

These comments come amid international scrutiny of recent events in Pakistan, where the military-backed regime defied Supreme Court orders to take Imran Khan to a private hospital for complete and independent medical evaluation and treatment. Instead, he was taken to a state-run facility for a brief eye exam and follow-up procedure.

Observers describe the switch as subterfuge and deception that defied the court’s clear directive, prompting further legal challenges from Khan’s family and party.

When Supreme Court orders are treated as optional, the rule of law is under attack.

Blocking Imran Khan’s transfer to Shaukat Khanum, denying his chosen doctor, and disregarding the medical board’s directives amounts to a serious breach of judicial authority.
