The £2.78M Shannon class vessel is the first new permanent lifeboat for the Portree RNLI station in 30 years and replaces the veteran Trent class Stanley Watson Barker (14-16).

WAVERLEY TO VISIT PADSTOW - TUES 26th MAY
Waverley’s final sailing from Cornwall for 2026 will take place from Padstow on Tuesday 26th May - this will be her first visit to the North Cornish town since the 1980s!
Don’t miss your chance to step aboard Waverley from Padstow and cruise up the North Cornish coast viewing Tintagel Head, Hartland Point & Bull Point Lighthouse before arriving at Ilfracombe.
Waverley will depart Padstow at 3pm and arrive in Ilfracombe at 7:30pm offering a unique cruise in what’s forecast to be stunning conditions.
A coach connection is available from Ilfracombe departing at 11:30am to travel to Padstow and join Waverley.
