On the very first day of 2026, I found myself at a lunch table with a man whose journey has quietly inspired many, including me, Shri K. Annamalai, Senior BJP leader, former Tamil Nadu BJP President, a dear friend, and someone the Gen-Z can truly look up to.

What began as a simple meal soon became a heartfelt conversation spanning life, politics, sports, cinema, and the choices that shape us. Amid shared stories and laughter, I was reminded how rare it is to meet someone so grounded despite having lived such a demanding, disciplined, and courageous life.

I shared with him how inspiring it was to see a police officer step beyond the certainty of the uniform into the unpredictable world of mainstream politics, driven purely by conviction. His book Beyond Khakhi stayed with me, not just as a reader, but as someone who believes that the most meaningful journeys are guided by purpose, not comfort.

My heartfelt thanks to Annamalai and his family for the warmth, the lovely homely food, and the generous time, it made the afternoon truly special. This meeting had been long pending, but perhaps the timing was perfect: the very first day of a new year.

Thank you, dear friend, for your time, your thoughts, and your warmth. Best wishes always. And here’s to finally playing that long-pending cricket match… in case we play.

கருமத்தம்பட்டி CCTV காட்சிகள் வெளியாகி அதிர்ச்சியை ஏற்படுத்தியும் இன்னும் குற்றவாளிகள் கைது செய்யப்படவில்லை. தமிழகத்தின் அமைதியைச் சீர்குலைத்து, தேவையற்ற பிரிவினைவாதத்தைத் தூண்டும் இந்த வெறுப்பு அரசியலுக்கு முற்றுப்புள்ளி வைக்கப் போவது யார்?

வடமாநில தொழிலாளர்கள் மீதான இந்தத் தொடர் தாக்குதல்கள் தமிழகத்தின் கலாச்சாரத்திற்கே அவமானம். உடனடியாக சம்பந்தப்பட்டவர்கள் மீது கடும் நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும்.

Suraaj, a migrant worker from West Bengal, was brutally murdered yesterday in Coimbatore for the simple act of objecting after being hit by a vehicle.

Two migrant workers, Monish Seran and Sushantha Kohori from Odisha, working in Thirubuvanam in Sivagangai district, were brutally attacked last night by a gang under the influence of Ganja.

In recent days, such incidents have repeatedly exposed the dangerous consequences of the DMK’s politics of division. When hatred is normalised, and identity is weaponised for political gain, violence inevitably follows.

Tamil Nadu cannot afford this moral and administrative collapse.

கோவையில் கல்லூரி மாணவர் விடுதிகளில் போலீசார் நடத்திய சோதனையில் கஞ்சா உள்ளிட்ட போதைப்பொருட்களும் ஆயுதங்களும் பறிமுதல் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளன. மாணவர் விடுதிகள் வரை கஞ்சா விற்பனை ஊடுருவியிருப்பது, போதைப்பொருள் எவ்வளவு ஆழமாக தமிழகத்தில் பரவியுள்ளது என்பதற்கான நேரடி சாட்சி. கல்வி வளாகங்களே பாதுகாப்பற்ற நிலையில் இருக்கும்போது, கஞ்சா புழக்கம் இல்லை என்று பேசுவது பொதுமக்களுக்குச் செய்யும் துரோகம். கஞ்சா விற்பனை மற்றும் புழக்கத்தைக் கட்டுப்படுத்த முடியாமல் தோல்வியடைந்த திமுக அரசு, இன்று உண்மையை மறைத்து தப்பிக்க முயல்கிறது.

போதைப்பொருள் சட்ட ஒழுங���கு பிரச்சினை மட்டும் அல்ல. அது தமிழக இளைஞர்களின் எதிர்காலத்தை சிதைக்கும் சமூகப் பேரழிவு. கஞ்சா கடத்துபவர்கள் மீதும் விற்பனை செய்பவர்கள் மீதும் கடுமையான நடவடிக்கை எடுப்பத�� விட்டுவிட்டு, முழு பூசணிக்காயைச் சோற்றில் மறைக்க அமைச்சர் திரு மா.சுப்பிரமணியன் முயற்சிப்பது வெட்கக்கேடு.

சென்னையில், அண்ணா சாலையில் இளைஞர் முகமது யூனுஸ், தாம்பரம்–மதுரவாயல் பைபாசில் ஷோபனா என்ற இளம்பெண், திருமங்கலத்தில், ஹேமமாலினி என்ற இளம்பெண் ஆகியோர் உயிரிழந்தது வெறும் சாலை விபத்துகளால் அல்ல. திமுக அரசின் அலட்சியத்தாலும், பொறுப்பற்ற தன்மையாலும் குண்டும், கு��ியுமாக இருந்த சாலைகளால்தான். தொடர்ச்சியாக அப்பாவி பொதுமக்கள் உயிர்களை பலி வாங்கிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது திமுக.

சாலைகள் திமுகவின் சொத்து அல்ல. உடனடியாக இந்த அதிகார துஷ்பிரயோகத்தை திமுக நிறுத்திக் கொள்ள வேண்டும். சேதப்படுத்திய சாலைகளை திமுக தனது செலவில் சீரமைக்க வேண்டும் என்று வலியுறுத்துகிறேன்.
