To Namjoon,
You had the clearest opportunity today to address the Chris Brown situation and you chose not to.
So I’m not going to keep asking you to talk about it. Your silence is an answer in itself even if it’s not the answer many of us wanted.
What I still find frustrating is the idea that we should simply “separate the art from the artist.” How are we supposed to do that when you spent years making your art so deeply connected to who you are, what you believe in, and the values you publicly shared with us?
You didn’t just give us music. You gave us your words, your beliefs, and your perspective. You asked us to listen to what you had to say about the world. That connection was part of what made your art meaningful to so many of us.
And if those messages were only something you used to sell records, while you privately believe something completely different, then that makes the situation even more absurd and sick. It would mean that the values people connected with were just a performance and that the person behind the art was never really present in it at all.
So when your actions contradict the values we associated with you, of course that changes how some of us experience your work. That isn’t hate. It isn’t “being an anti.” It’s a natural consequence of seeing the person behind the art contradict those values.
You are free to make your choices. But we are equally free to decide what those choices mean to us.
And honestly, telling people to separate the art from the artist feels less like maturity and more like avoiding an uncomfortable reality.
I’m not asking you for an apology anymore.
I just wonder whether the values you spent years talking about still mean what I thought they meant.
Today, you had the opportunity to tell us.
You chose silence.

I can’t believe shitGPT has become so normalized in society that saying you don’t use it gets you these type of reactions. Get me out of this nightmare reality. FUCK AI
I don't understand why more people don't find it viscerally awful to live in a world where all text, images, and music are no longer produced by human beings. This is an existential change that causes me sorrow every waking moment.
i don’t think a lot of people understand that even if ai was completely environmentally neutral, or even positive, you should still be against it. it’s making everyone dumb and fucking insane. it will be the downfall of our society
Tom Holland says AI can’t replicate acting because “creativity is about the human experience, about the emotions that come with it.”
“Artificial intelligence can give you an analysis of data or quick answers to questions, but it doesn’t understand the human motivations or emotions. The way that artists paint is not about the technique or recreating anything, it’s about expressing something. And AI doesn’t have that. It doesn’t have a soul.”
I saw a post on Reddit that said that “The underlying purpose of AI is to allow wealth to access skill while removing from the skilled the ability to access wealth.” And I don’t think I’ve ever seen AI described so incisively.
AI is so popular because it gives uncreative people the illusion that they are creative. It lets them skip right to the part where they get validation. It’s not only parasitic, but extremely narcissistic.
I don’t want a city on Mars. I don’t want AI in every app. I don’t want data centres in space. I don’t want humanoids or flying cars. I want clean water. I want a stable climate. I want bees to survive. And a habitable planet.
I hate GenAi.
I hate that it exists.
I hate that it makes everything seem fake in a world already rife with frauds and scammers.
It disconnects us further from each other and the human gift of art, for no discernible reward I can fathom.
It feeds all our worst qualities: laziness, historical and literary degeneracy, dishonesty and covetousness. It turns people into thieves that argue back in total absurdity: “I should have the right to steal and lie.”
It is poison delivered by keystroke.
AI Slop prompt users realizing their work can’t even be copyrighted or owned, meaning they can’t legally claim it as their own content.
According to the Supreme Court, turns out typing a sentence into a machine isn’t authorship.
Massive W for REAL artists everywhere.
We are winning.
“AI is the future!”
Nah, AI is YOUR future because you’re a lazy, talentless wannabe. I still have a properly functioning brain so I’m gonna keep using that.
