๐ DANGOTE REFINERY IPO: INVEST, BUT DONโT LET FOMO MAKE THE DECISION FOR YOU.
The recently unveiled Dangote Refinery IPO has understandably generated significant interest among Nigerians and Africans at home and in the diaspora.
But with major investment opportunities also comes a flood of information โ and unfortunately, misinformation, misleading narratives and potential scams.
My message is simple: Verify. Investigate. Understand the risk. Seek professional advice. Then decide.
Before committing your hard-earned money:
โ Read the official Dangote IPO Prospectus and rely on verified information.
โ Confirm that any broker or subscription platform you use is officially authorised for the offer.
โ Be extremely cautious of โguaranteed allocationโ, โguaranteed returnsโ, unofficial pre-IPO offers and requests to transfer investment funds to personal accounts.
โ Don't invest simply because everyone else appears to be investing.
โ Consider whether the investment fits your own financial circumstances, objectives and risk tolerance.
I have written a short FinREMIT FinBLOG explaining some of the important precautions prospective investors should consider before making a decision.

There is nothing abnormal about investigating an investment opportunity before putting your money into it. A great company does not eliminate investment risk, and popularity should never replace due diligence.
I will be setting aside some time this weekend for a Q&A and limited one-to-one conversations for members of our CITI-WEALTH community who would like to understand the opportunity and the precautions to consider.
Learn before you earn, save and invest wisely.

Re : Middle East Crisis: No distress calls yet from Nigerians in Iran
March 3, 2026:
The attention of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) has been drawn to a statement credited to the Commission Spokesman, Abdur-Rahman Balogun that there are no distress calls from Nigerians stranded in Middle East due to the ongoing crisis in the region.
I never issued such statement.
On the contrary, the Commission has actually received calls from a few Nigerians in Qatar, UAE, and Iran enquiring about preparations for evacuations when it becomes necessary.
The fact of the matter is that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working with all relevant agencies for appropriate steps while appealing to Nigerians in the affected countries to follow the travel advice as issued by the Ministry of foreign affairs and contact the emergency numbers provided by the ministry.
Nigerians in affected countries should be rest assured that the federal government is monitoring the situation and would take necessary steps to ensure no Nigerian life is endangered.
Signed.

@Malc_OE@NigeriaStories Ibadan, Calabar and Port Harcourt may not be a State but they are actually in a State. We can humbly correct instead of criticising. For record, they are in Oyo State, Cross-River, and River State respectively. Wish you safe trip @Peller089. Try to visit the confluence in Lokoja.
