Do everything you can this weekend to reassess how you take care of yourself. We're about to go into the war of our lives-we need to be ready and stay as healthy as possible. I'm going to think about the best ways to take my own advice, too.
You are valuable and necessary.❤️
When women have control over their income, they reinvest in their families.
🌽Everyone eats nutritious food.
📚Kids go to school.
💊Families get better health care.
And women work together, they can transform entire communities!
MMIW has become a grassroots movement to draw attention to disproportionate violence against Native Americans, particularly women and children. Activists point to colonial trauma and prejudicial or ineffective government policies as contributing factors.

Today is #WorkersMemorialDay, when we honor all workers who have been killed, hurt, or disabled by their work; and renew our commitment to fighting for safe working conditions for all.
Like I said: there’s a significant portion of the political media that wants Trump back, and it has nothing to do with the way the country is running.
Competence apparently isn’t ‘fun’ to cover.
The trees have witnessed our history - since time immemorial. From Appalachia to the grand redwoods on the West coast, this Arbor Day, I'm thankful to those who have cared for our forests and remain committed to protecting all of nature for future generations.
"...and in some cases, thousands of years, and are really about shifting from an extractive mode of agriculture to these more reciprocal relationships with land, plants, and animals. And that's where we see the potential to really shift climate change."
"There are some farming approaches that are being presented or labeled as regenerative that don't really change...extractive agriculture. You can throw in a little no-till [farming] or maybe a little cover cropping, but you're basically still extracting nutrients out of soil."
"Once we're able to see something different, it unlocks our imagination of what's possible." @NeilThapar, in conversation with me and @evankleiman on @KCRWGoodFood@kcrw https://t.co/raKBjpTLEP

The Fashion industry has yet to make any meaningful strides towards sustainability, and is in fact using resources in order to burn and dump millions of garments each year, exploiting workers, and pushing consumerism. #SustainableFashion#RanaPlaza#FashionRevolutionDay
9 years ago today, the Rana Plaza building collapsed, killing 1,134 garments workers & injuring thousands more.
If workers had had trade unions to protect them, they would not have been forced to work in an unsafe building.
We must NEVER forget the #RanaPlaza disaster.
