BREAKING: Trump's $10 billion BBC lawsuit is BACKFIRING BIGLY and may force Special Prosecutor Jack Smith's January 6 evidence back into the courtroom
After making $16 million from Paramount/CBS to settle one of his frivolous lawsuits, Donald Trump figured he could keep suing media companies and rake in the dough from corporate CEOs who would rather give in than face a protracted and expensive legal fight.
But Trump got greedy and wanted a $10 billion payday from his next target, Britain’s venerable public broadcaster, the BBC.
What he's getting instead is a legal nightmare of his own making.
Trump sued the BBC last December, claiming a documentary on their news program Panorama, "put words in his mouth" by editing together portions of his January 6th speech delivered nearly 50 minutes apart.
He even bizarrely claimed the network used AI to fabricate his words — it didn't. The BBC did splice the footage, which sparked an internal investigation, the firing of some senior officials at the broadcaster, and the issuing of a written apology.
An apology simply wasn't enough for Trump, however. He still wanted that $10 billion.
Now his lawsuit against the British broadcaster is unraveling spectacularly.
A federal judge ruled this week that Trump must hand over detailed financial records from more than 400 companies tied to his family trust — because HIS OWN lawsuit claims the BBC's editing damaged his businesses.
You can't claim massive financial injury and then refuse to show your books. Judge Enjoliqué Lett wasn't buying the attempted dodge: "All of President Trump's brand, properties and businesses are impugned... Reputational, economic damages, all of that is now at issue in this case."
It gets worse. The same judge greenlit subpoenas targeting Trump's inner circle — Donald Trump Jr., Steve Bannon, and Stephen Miller — to determine what Trump actually intended on January 6th.
And now, in a third gut-punch within 24 hours, the BBC is demanding records showing exactly how Trump LOST his executive privilege claims during Special Prosecutor Jack Smith's January 6th investigation.
Smith's team had already gathered evidence establishing that the Capitol violence was "foreseeable" to Trump, that he "caused it," and that he made "a conscious choice not to stop it" once it began. If the BBC gets that evidence, Trump's entire defamation case collapses.
Trump built a career suing media outlets into silence. This time, he sued an organization willing to actually fight — and in doing so, handed prosecutors a roadmap straight into his finances, his inner circle, and his own conduct on January 6th.
Plus, the public may get another chance to review the evidence that Jack Smith amassed against Trump, evidence that judges appointed by the litigious president have made sure that he’ll never be held accountable for.
Sometimes a lawsuit is simply a trap you built for yourself.

@JDeS1953@CBSNews You are delusional! He’s lining the pockets and bank accounts of his family, friends as well as his own. For what? Definitely not you!

If the US did this, we'd generate enough clean, American-made energy to power about 8 million homes.

This exchange just happened on the Senate floor.
Cornyn: “I don’t understand how the SAVE Act disenfranchises voters.”
Durbin: “Happy to explain. Driver’s licenses don’t qualify under the bill. 50% of Americans don’t have passports.”
Cornyn: “Why not just amend it?”
Durbin: “When’s the last time the Senate actually amended a bill?”
Silence.
The SAVE Act requires passport-level documentation to register to vote.
50% of Americans don’t have a passport.
The people least likely to have passports: the elderly, the poor, rural Americans, young first-time voters.
The people most likely to have passports: wealthy Americans.
This is not voter protection.
This is voter selection.
And when a senator suggested fixing it — his own colleague couldn’t name the last time the Senate amended anything.
That’s the Senate in 2026.
If you watch anything today….
Let it be this.

I don’t care.

@Pdawg131313@washingtonpost No way. Against the U.S. Constitution! Who would want a convicted felon and documented liar to continue in office? Not I, said the Little Red Hen!
BREAKING🚨 A man was choked to death by ICE guards, and DHS hid his body at a military base to block the autopsy.
His name was Geraldo Lunas Campos. When the county medical examiner finally performed an autopsy, the conclusion was devastatingly clear: his death was ruled a homicide.
But here is the detail that should make your blood run cold.
When another man recently died at that exact same #ICE facility, the Department of Homeland Security didn't call the local medical examiner. Instead, they moved his body to a nearby U.S. Army base.
And that Army base is now flat-out refusing to release the results of the autopsy.
This was revealed today by Senator Dick Durbin in a horrifying congressional hearing about the explosion of deaths in ICE custody under the Trump administration.
Eight people have already died in ICE custody in just the first two months of this year alone. Many of them died from easily treatable illnesses.
911 logs show ICE facilities are completely overwhelmed, ignoring basic human rights.
But moving a body to a military installation to dodge a local homicide investigation? That isn't just negligence. That is a coordinated, state-sponsored cover-up.
They are operating mass detention facilities with zero accountability. They are treating human beings like they are disposable. And when their guards cross the line, they use the full weight of the federal military apparatus to hide the evidence.
We are watching human rights abuses happen on American soil, funded by our tax dollars. We must demand the autopsy report.
Share this. Do not let them sweep these deaths under the rug.
They all knew who Donald Trump was before he was elected. They all know who he is now.

BREAKING: Trump admin gets caught in disgusting lie as ICE tries to argue that the blind refugee they all but killed ASKED THEM to leave him at a closed coffee shop in the freezing cold!
Nurul Amin Shah Alam, a 56-year-old refugee from Myanmar who was nearly blind and spoke almost no English, was released from Erie County jail on February 19, 2026.
Smelling blood, ICE agents immediately took him into custody due to an immigration detainer placed on him during his release process.
They determined he had entered the United States as a refugee in late 2024, and was not amenable to removal. But instead of helping him find his family, they dropped him off at a CLOSED Tim Hortons restaurant a mile from his last address – in freezing weather, wearing only orange jail booties, no phone, NO COAT.
His body was found five days later, four miles away. The area had had light freezing rain, snow, and fog, with temperatures in the low 30s for days.
Border Patrol and Customs claims agents used a translator program, offered a courtesy ride, and Shah Alam “chose” the coffee shop as a “warm, safe location.” They say he showed “no signs of distress, mobility issues, or disabilities requiring special assistance.”
That claim is laughable. A nearly blind man who doesn’t speak English “politely asked” to be left at a closed Tim Hortons in a snowstorm? Outside in winter is “warm and safe” for a man from sub-tropical Myanmar in jail booties? Seriously?
Buffalo Mayor Sean Ryan wasn’t having it, calling the man’s death “preventable” and “inhumane.” “That is bad policing, but that is also [being] bad human beings,” Ryan said.
This is not a question of competence, but abject cruelty. The Trump administration is so obsessed with mass deportations that they treat vulnerable refugees like trash, tossing them aside without a second thought once they find out they can’t be added to the deportation dossier, then making up a crap story in a pathetic attempt to cover their tracks.
A man who came to this country legally as a refugee, who had a family and a life here, was abandoned in subzero conditions and died. His family didn’t even know where he was.
The administration wants us to believe ICE agent behave like choirboys, but the truth is they left a disabled, confused man to DIE in the cold because he was an immigrant. This is what happens when racism dehumanization becomes policy.
If this story of cruelty and lies makes your blood boil, like and share to demand answers. These are human beings, not numbers.
