Litigant in Person | Campaign 4 change Insolvency Reg | Risk of being an Executor in a Will | My Dad died and then I lost everything | Fighting 4 Justice&Reform
Hello @kevinhollinrake it’s nearly two years since this post by @APPGbanking on the proposed reform of the Regulation of the #Insolvency Industry. I’m about to be made homeless by an IP despite being under investigation. I would be grateful for an update please…
A must read.

Banks and insolvency practitioners ripping people-off, pushing people/SMEs into unnecessary bankruptcy, for profit.

POST OFFICE SCANDAL IS NOT OVER
It spread into their homes, their marriages, their children's lives, their health. In many cases it spread into grief that never left.
Now the government's answer to those families appears to be a flat-rate payment. Years of suffering reduced to an administrative shortcut.
Families lived through prosecutions, bankruptcies, stigma, and lasting harm. Many no longer have the documents the state now expects them to produce. Not because they were careless.
So the message now seems to be this. Take a standard sum. Ask no difficult questions. Move on.
Redress should reflect the reality of harm. It should not depend on whether a family still holds medical records from years ago. It should not be shaped around what is easiest for officials to process. It should be shaped around truth, loss, and accountability.
Speed is not the problem. Using speed as an excuse to undervalue suffering is. Compensation should never become a discount exercise for institutional failure.
The Post Office scandal was built on denial, delay, and bureaucracy.
Families deserve better than this!

I have been sorting out my kids inheritance tax after their mother passed 6 weeks ago.
What a nightmare and so unfair in every way.
1. Gifts going back 7 years taxed at 40%. 7 years if bank statements.
2. 6 months to pay IHT bill whilst burying, grieving, getting valuations, gathering 7 years bank statement, 6 months of bills, prepping house for sale (to pay the tax they have to sell their home), court then probate, selling the house. Just 6 months to do this or 7.5-8.5% interest applies!!!
It’s an impossible target to meet.
3. Content valuation of table chairs, pictures and ornaments taxed at 40%
This is money she paid a huge tax bill on just 3 years ago after my 32 years of work building a business and giving out over 5,000 jobs. Now just 3 years later another 40% (after tax free amount £325k jointly).
It’s theft in every way.
My kids (young adults) life horrified and created a lot of anxiety trying to get things valued and sold whilst burying their mother.
Disgusting @Keir_Starmer a disgrace the human race and my country. Get out or get thrown out.
The right to a jury trial in the most fundamental criminal cases is a guarantee of equal justice for every one of us. If a government cuts that right instead of funding the system, it isn’t reform it’s endangering the freedom of us all.
Wow - completely heartbreaking to hear the challenges facing the thousands of victims for justice. I found it quite emotional watching #Newsnight but inspired by your bravery and the raw honesty of Baroness Casey. 🌸
"I'm raging, actually, on behalf of the victims."
Baroness Louise Casey, author of the Government's audit on grooming gangs, on her anger that so little has changed since her 2015 Rotherham report.
#Newsnight
This is no way to treat the leader of a country being pummelled by Russia. It’s quite upsetting. Trump and Vance gang up on Zelensky. No way for leaders to behave. Trying to intimidate Zelensky. Vance attacks Z then accuses him of disrespect because he answers back.
Hillsborough is the inspiration for never ever giving in. The families are so inspirational to all of us. We must never accept in-Justice. The victims of any scandal must fight. Never give in. @RedAlert1963
If you believe the former Post Office chief executive Paula Vennells and others implicated in the Post Office Horizon scandal, which led to some 700 miscarriages of justice, should be prosecuted, sign the petition. https://t.co/IxIBkHOj0g
@mariaspears and sadly there are many more Angela’s out there… nothing will change until this Country starts Regulating properly, the Justice system changes and rogue solicitors are severely punished if they have not acted with honestly and integrity and have misled the Court
This is heartbreaking to hear the situ of Martin Griffiths and the disgraceful treatment by the wretched Execs at the PO. Sadly there are many Angela’s et al (including lawyers) out there doing exactly the same to innocent parties who will do anything to protect their reputation

On 23rd September 2013 Martin Griffiths, 58, deliberately stepped in front of a bus and suffered fatal injuries after being “hounded” by @PostOffice over alleged shortfalls caused by the malfunctioning Horizon IT system. He was further being pursued by Post Office bosses over monies stolen when he fell victim to an armed robbery.
This exchange between JASON BEER KC and ANGELA van den BOGERD reveals that the primary reaction within @PostOffice to news of Mr Griffiths’ tragic suicide was not one of sympathy or a Duty of Care to Martin's Family - IT WAS TO SEEK THE SERVICES OF A MEDIA LAWYER !😡
RIP Martin Griffiths 😢🙏
#PostOfficeScandal This is the reality of the scandal. Numerous suicides, people passing away in ill health due to the stress of trying to clear their names. We MUST ensure justice is delivered. Everyone is fully compensated & people held to account #MrBatesVsThePostOffice 👇
Regulators @sra_solicitors and @barstandards need to investigate lawyers involved in the Post Office / @fujitsu_uk / Horizon scandal which resulted in the biggest miscarriage of justice in British history. And to do so with vigour says @RichardMoorhead https://t.co/56MJb71ZRF
My thoughts today are with all the victims of the Post Office scandal & their families as the ITV drama of the scandal on itv at 9.00 tells some of their stories
It is no spoiler to say that it will have no proper ending, because their fight for justice is far, far from over. 🙏
It would help enormously if the Regulator actually got the name right of the solicitor they are supposedly investigating in correspondence - it’s only been ongoing for months and months 🙄 and his name is on a lot of documents! *sigh*
