I am a (soon-to-be) psychologist, so the lens through which I see the world is one of statistics, research methods, and (I hope) compassion. But the face that holds those lenses is Black. As are the faces of 13% of the U.S. population
@hagan_ke THIS! This is amazing and is so consistent with what Annie and I have been arguing about the fact that eating disorders should be included in research like this. So excited to see what comes of this!
@K_L_Humphreys Grant funded trainees: think about the timing of renewal. T32 was shockingly not renewed & 👶🏾 due day after grant expired. Wouldve lost health insur/paid leave (normally get 8 wks on a T32), but 👶🏾 born a wk early, & 5 days after birth, PI agreed to support me out of slush fund.
I am honored to be speaking as part of the Office of Women's Health #NEDAW programming to discuss eating disorders in underrepresented populations. Join us Thursday, 2/29, at 1pm. See below for registration! @UConn_InCHIP@UConn @UConnCLAS
#EatingDisorders affect ~29 million Americans during their lifetime. This week during National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, join us and “Let’s Talk About It: Eating Disorders, Stigma, and Empowered Recovery.” #NEDAW https://t.co/JttZLKP8CA
Wow… more from Justice Jackson:
“With let-them-eat-cake obliviousness, today, the majority pulls the ripcord and announces "colorblindness for all' by legal fiat. But deeming race irrelevant in law does not make it so in life.”
@jpoonphd Congrats, Jenny! I remember our initial conversations about your research during seminar and how open you've always been to feedback. I really hope this is a great move for you, as I know how passionate you are about this population.
Involving trainees in decision making processes is of critical importance. It's been a pleasure working on these commentaries with my fellow former @BrownPsychiatry psychology trainees and trainees from all over the country to keep moving the conversation forward.
1/12 I'm thrilled to share that our response to commentaries on “Systemic Challenges in Internship Training for Health-Service Psychology: A Call to Action From Trainee Stakeholders” is now available in Clinical Psychological Science! https://t.co/vAHYS8Zq5c
Thrilled to be interviewed for Rhode Island PBS Weekly to talk about how eating disorders don't fit a stereotype. Such an important conversation that I'm thankful @RIPBSWeekly is featuring!
Nearly 29 million Americans will have some form of an eating disorder in their lifetime. @MichelleSMNews explores the myths and miconceptions surrounding eating disorders in our segment "More than Food."

Thrilled to be involved in this work, humbled by how hard it is to be a woman and a mom in academia, and happy to share my experience applying for and securing an NIH Career Development Award with anyone who is thinking of applying!
New in Advance Access: Women represent the majority of SPP’s research workforce, but face gender-specific barriers to securing early career funding. Authors @crbatesPhD@bakuladana@amyhegbert#Gerhardt#Davis & @alex_psihogios offer recommendations.

There's a lot here that we can all learn about steps that we need to take to improve access to research informed treatment. Also kudos to @hannahfrankphd for lowering the barriers to understanding research findings by creating a digestible infographic!
I'm SO excited that this project is finally published and available for the world to see. I even attempted to create my first ever infographic to summarize the results. We asked parents about their experiences accessing exposure for their children.
@ee_reilly Andrea Goldschmidt is a fabulous mentor and she takes trainees through the T32 at Pitt which I see you have listed but could also be listed under the clinical mentor section since she also takes postdocs outside of that T32
