@cmlleannee I personally love Pinterest so I think that this will be great for this platform! I feel like videos designed for the platform will be a great addition for people trying to do projects of their own!
@alexandramona1 I actually like this feature a lot, and I feel like this will make it easier to find things later down the line since things on Twitter are so current. This could also make it easier to find tweets from a long time ago as well, which I'm sure will be useful!
@Jacobgranados20 I definitely agree that TikTok can be addicting and it is very easy to fall down a rabbit hole. I'm surprised that kids as young as 12 can make an account, since they have no control over what they can see on the app and not everything is appropriate for kids.
@JOUR140sophia This addition seems like Instagram is trying to piggyback off another social media's successful feature and try and make it their own! Which honestly doesn't surprise me since I have seen this happen many times.
Social media can take such a toll on someone's mental health, especially due to these cognitive distortions. I think that these skills are something to keep in mind and can really help start to identify and eliminate those harming thoughts. #csulbsmc

@lynettehaggins I think that this feature is good in theory, especially if it will lead to creators getting the payments they deserve, but I also don't see why TikTok can't just pay them better to begin with. The creators themselves are what is making them money in the first place.
@Jacobgranados20 I think that really being aware of one's social media use is a step in the right direction. It's important to be introspective when it comes to things like social media's affect on our mental health, so I like the methods they talked about here a lot!
@yen010123 This function feels like a cash grab more than anything to me, even though it is advertised as something that is supposed to benefit creators. It just sounds like a membership that nobody will be willing to pay for.
@cmlleannee This was interesting to see how the major other social media platforms really do see themselves differently from one another. I also liked the comment that one of the senators said: "Being different from Facebook is not a defense."
It is interesting to see how Netflix has handled this backlash in contrast to how the social media accounts that aren't Netflix itself but speak for their brand handle and communicate about the situation. #csulbsmc https://t.co/iOMFQi347h via @NewYorker
@cmlleannee I feel like there are many reasons for this rebranding, like reaching a broader audience, but the only way to really stay away from controversy like the article said is to really clean their act up.
@lynettehaggins I definitely agree that this can be a double edged sword. When posting themselves I'm sure that activists need to be weary and set boundaries in order to make it easier for them on these platforms.
@AshleyJOUR I feel like eventually every social media platform will find a way to include filters of their own due to how popular it is! It doesn't surprise me that Facebook decided to do it as well.
@alexandramona1 This is really interesting considering how often people have said that it leans the complete opposite! But once I stop and think about it the trending pages do seem to be filled with more conservative content.
I think this just shows how powerful the effects of social media can be, and how scary it is that the algorithms/content can contribute to things like eating disorders. It's a fine line monitoring sensitive content versus spreading awareness #csulbsmc https://t.co/jn0G4OpD2K
@yen010123 Instagram has been down a lot recently, but it’s nice that they are trying to come up with a solution to notify people when this happens! But the downside of this is the fact that this means these errors will most likely keep happening.
@cmlleannee I think this is a really great feature, especially since it not only helps us from spreading misinformation but it also makes us think twice about the media we are consuming. I hope other social media sites develop something like this soon.
Social media affects everyone in different ways, so without further research, we can't be sure if social media is inherently good or bad for someone, especially teenagers.

@AshleyJOUR I completely agree, I feel like even though this test ended, it was a great idea in general in order to prevent toxic threads and promote healthier conversations on social media.
@alexandramona1 I still use TikTok fairly often, and I do think that this is a step in the right direction for them. It's hard not to let social media affect my mental health, but it does, so seeing something like this is a good start.
