So happy that my book The City in the City: Architecture and Change in London's Financial District is launched by @mitpress today! https://t.co/hWQD0lfzaP

Balancing calculations of financial risk with the desire to bolster African American neighborhoods, Black-owned insurance companies of the 20th century were often caught in an actuarial double bind.

In preparation for this joint book launch, I've been thoroughly enjoying Helena's book "Architecture and Retrenchment" which looks at the effects of neoliberal government policies on the Swedish welfare state's architectural output in the post-war decades https://t.co/x6rQtsEhJt
Excited for the NL launch of my book "The City in the City" at Nieuwe Instituut Rotterdam, 11 April! Privileged to be sharing the stage with Helena Mattsson, launching "Architecture and Retrenchment" and Reinhold Martin https://t.co/YX7oXMhIBV and https://t.co/4pbgOvSfB1
I much enjoyed reviewing The City in the City: Architecture and Change in London’s Financial District by Amy Thomas

This is a terrific book. Congratulations @amyrachelthomas. Essential for anyone who wants to understand how the shape and look of London has changed, and why.
A new @mitpress book by @amyrachelthomas analyses the City of London, covering every inch of the Square Mile in a study covering urban planning to details of desks. Thomas’ rich & clever use of archive images propels the research, click below to read:

Please tune in online or in person to the launch of our book Teaching Design for Values tonight at the Pakhuis de Zwijger in Amsterdam! @De_Zwijger@TUDelftOpen@BKTUDelft
Very important call from Charles. It is of paramount importance for British history (architectural and otherwise) that the Pevsner project continues. It's a unique but utterly vital resource.

Thanks @willjennings80 for these kind words. Also devastated to learn of the death of #BrianGriffin. We were only in contact last week. A very sad day, the death of a photographer legend and lovely man.
This is an excellent book, you should go to the launch & read the piece soon on @RecessedSpace.
It's richer than most academic books due to the use of fantastic imagery, not least the cover & series by Brian Griffin who sadly just died - this book is a great intro to his eye.
I can’t wait for this book launch next week, featuring two voices I love to listen to, @amyrachelthomas and Adrian Forty, discussing a book I can’t wait to read!
Can't wait to launch my book The City in the City at the @aabookshop next Wed, 7 February 6-8pm. Delighted to be in conversation with Emeritus Prof. Adrian Forty. All are welcome, no booking necessary!
