@tonykemp Iโll never forget how fun you were w/the Astros. #HugsForHomers#KempinAintEasy But more than that, Iโll remember you after George Floyd. You were hurting yet made yourself available to encourage & educateโeven chatting one-on-one w/many of us, which was very meaningful to me.
Billy Wagner, the 5-foot-9 fireballer who saved 422 games as a left-hander, will join former Astros teammates Jeff Bagwell and Craig Biggio in Cooperstown, N.Y.
Wagner gets elected to the Hall of Fame in his final year on the ballot. He'll be enshrined in July.
From 10 games out on June 19, to first place on Aug. 20, to division champions on Sept. 24.
The American League West runs through Houston.
The Astros have won their 7th AL West title in 8 years by beating the Mariners, 4-3, at Minute Maid Park.
A celebration awaits.
