Delighted to be joined by the iconic Clare Grogan on my final @BBCRadioScot show, 2-4pm. We’ve also got Film on Friday, and I’d love a song connecting to Carly Simon’s You’re So Vain to close the show. Thank you, as ever. I have loved spending every Friday afternoon with you. 🧡
I've been lucky enough to interview some amazing authors, but tonight was really special. Bright, beautiful, funny & fierce: the one and only Len Pennie take a bow, that was so life affirming! Happy Monday all! @canongatebooks#poyumsannaw#poyums
Len Pennie first became known during the pandemic, when she began posting a Scots word of the day on social media. Then, seeking an outlet for the pain of an abusive relationship she’d just escaped, she turned to poetry.
This year, the 25-year-old became the first poet in a decade to win at the British Book Awards. Now she’s publishing a new collection of poems – in Scots and English.
Just did a "For Emma" interview with Len Pennie on BBC radio Scotland. It was really enjoyable and wonderful to hear Len's take. Many thanks to
@Lenniesaurus and @BBCRadioScot

Edinburgh bound for @BBCRadioScot#Afternoons 2-4pm: I’m joined by Status Quo’s Francis Rossi; we’ve got movie reviews, music, & I’d love a #SomethingForTheWeekend song suggestion from YOU to close the show, linking to Crazy Horses by the Osmonds. What do you want to hear? 💃🏻
Janice is an absolute legend. I’ve loved her since watching NB as a school kid. None more sharp, smart, funny, supportive, curious and lovely. This is heartbreaking news, but she's bang-on about living in the moment. Here’s to that. What a loss to the airwaves, but what a woman.
This is just so sad. Janice is an absolute titan of Scottish broadcasting, particularly in the field of culture and the arts.
Sending her all the love and grand homme hugs. X
@Nicola_Meighan@BBCRadioScot@bbcrivercity@GrantStottOnAir 3 tidies tight there!
