My dad used to say, “You can’t win, if you don’t play.” At that time he was talking about the Illinois State Lottery, yet knowing my dad he intended it to be a broader work of wisdom. 

So, while I do not play the lottery because I’m a budget watcher, I did apply to a continuing education program at Harvard with WAI. And of many qualified applicants, I’m one of 30 selected to attend. While some might feel this is a boastful post - they’d be right, it is - somebody has toot our horn sometimes.

Toot toot. 🥳

Moreover, I hope and pray, especially for my daughter, that it’s a testament to working hard, taking chances, and being able to overcome obstacles in life that earn us merit and amazing opportunities.

It’s probably by no coincidence that my dad was also accepted to a Havard continuing education program for emerging sales leadership. I recall his delight in acceptance, yet at that time in my youth it did not resonate for me how cool it was. Now I know, Dad. Cheers to always learning! 🍻
