Edge (2015) is a great paper detailing out a good null hypothesis/expectation for how two populations will differ in trait magnitude. The paper assumes the trait is (i) additive, (ii) fully heritable, and (iii) affected solely by drift. See their contribution assumptions:
@inquisitius It also isn’t really that common in the traditional sense (status/resources). Assortment is quite high. There are extremes that can’t happen to men (eg celebrities) but these are a small slice of overall dating/sex that happens.
Contrary to stereotypes, research finds that emotional connection is the most common reason men report for wanting partnered sex. When asked what they believe their partner wants from sex, women underestimated how emotionally meaningful sex was to men. https://t.co/xJjpF5pBCl
@HailPopePXII Yeah pretty much every one of my friends has know — or dated — a girl like that. Obviously not that extreme, but about 70% overlap. Female toxicity is so fetishized & accepted that it just seems normal.
@inquisitius Yeah I’m wondering how much better it is than a federal clerkship though, since both are pretty rare. Functionally it seems like they’re open to the same opportunities but scotus clerks have an easier time.
