@Chathurangaab@Kothwala Best support a govt can give private sector is create the enabling environment i.e. stable economic policies, development of support infrastructure like EPZ, law and order etc.and let the private sector function and stay the heck away without interfering.
@Rat_na12 Visions are nice, but no point if its not implemented. Look and see on how he implements things, the people he surrounds him self to do stuff, criteria he has for selecting them. Nice vision but result will be the same as before.
@sonaljay8 Yep, his decision + a confluence of global events accelerated it.IMO the path to the current distruction started with setting up a central Bank with no independence, destruction of the civil service, both then used by cunning & brilliant politicians to make SLns slave to handouts
@Dileep_Wije@NewsWireLK@RW_UNP Unless potential investors, lenders etc. who look at this region have been living in a cave, knows very well that we don't have money.Having costly parades won't fool anyone.Celebrate it minimally, divert this money to the large population who are starving.
@rowmewan1 Tax revenue had to be increased. Rates were too low & had to be increased but not to such absurd rates.Pre Gota rates would have been ok.Instead of milking those who already pay tax what needs done is stopping leakages. The increases taken will be negated due to 2nd order effects
@nadeesha111@RehanJayawick@chamithwije They aren't.why would the same guys (bulk of the leadership) be suddenly different. This is the nature of the system at its core, the system will only attract people with such mindsets only. Guys who have been part of the system going 'born today mode' has ended up disaster before
@samadsaleem9@BuhardeenImtiaz A non sensical explanation by a non expert on the subject.... That's why we are here, non experts taking decisions and making pronouncements on stuff they don't really understand
@ChayuDamsinghe How to change the existing political setup in a peaceful manner is the big question. But without this change expecting a better future is unrealistic. This is what we have done since the end of the war, expecting something different and good from the same people who hv messed it up
@ChayuDamsinghe If we as a country are to progress and realise its true potential we need to implement and carry out serious reforms across many spheres. We can not expect these to be done by the existing politicians and the political system that benefits & propers on the absence of such reforms
