@be_like_ice authority figures can’t stand me, and i can’t stand them, i call out power imbalances even if it’s uncalled for, i make it my mission to make those who make me uncomfortable, uncomfortable.
I had a phase where I tried mightily to help socially awkward men meet women
But no matter how much advice I gave, they wouldn't take it
I'd give them long lists of places to socialize & maybe meet women, they wouldn't do it or they'd demand I looked up specific ideas in *their* city
I'd give them cheap first date ideas and they wouldn't bother
I'd give them endless approach advice & they'd insist it wouldn't work anyway
I'd tell them to get a job one day a week in a social environment to improve social skills & they'd insist that wouldn't help
What's funny is a guy told me this would never work: these guys didn't want help
It took me forever to believe him, but yeah, a victim mindset is something only the individual can overcome
A lot of Red Pill/manosphere advice mainly exists to tell men it's not their fault women don't want them cuz women only want the top 20%/10%/5%/1% of men (crazy how that pool kept shrinking)
It's sad because I wanted to be a dating coach from a young age. I love helping people.
But the dark secret is that women are the same as men: they don't really want actionable advice either 😅
@GOP__Ls@notcapnamerica 3.5 years for attempted murder, huh? There are thousands of Black men in prison doing quadruple that sentence, for possession of small amounts of marijuana, but sure, no 2 tier justice or anything like that here…
i knew a woman like this who had her own apartment, paid her own bills, drove her own car and never had to call anyone for financial help.
one day, i intentionally asked her, what do you need a man for? she smiled and said... need and want are two different things, that she didn’t want a man to survive, she just wanted one to share peace, loyalty, laughter and a life that felt lighter together.
for her, love was never about rescue, it was about partnership
a man wasn’t supposed to be a provider she depended on but a companion who added value where money couldn’t reach cos comfort can pay the bills yes but comfort can’t hug you after a hard day, build memories with you or grow old beside you.
so do you understand now why you still need a man as a woman regardless of your status and achievements?
I think enough time has passed. I didn’t like the ICE storyline in the pitt bc it felt like they were making Jesse and Robby white saviors. And i also didn’t like a lot of the fandoms reactions bc instead of using it as an opportunity to talk about how horrific ICE is (1/2)
My husband just told our son, who was picking on his little sister, "it is your job as a future man to listen and respect people's boundaries. You will often be bigger than others and it is unkind to use your size against them. She said stop. You will stop!"
I've never heard another man, at least in my family, say anything like that
I hope we raise good humans.
With my partner now because he seemed able to express his feelings (not just romantic ones). Several male friends or crushes did as well. That's part of why I got along with them, I think. Guys feelings matter too, but they did express sometimes it felt unsafe
Jodi speaks out for men who keep their emotions bottled up instead of expressing them
“It’s hard being a woman, obviously, and it’s hard being a man too. Imagine how difficult it must be to suppress your emotions. I have empathy for men because when I ask a man how he’s doing, compared to women, they often say ‘I don’t know’ and never really open up because they feel like they’re not allowed to.”

We need to normalize the thought of “if I'm having a tough conversation with you, it's not an attack, it’s because I want you in my life and want you to tighten up so I can keep you in it”.
@plasmarob If the logic boils down to "it's easy, everyone just has to vote [red]" then I don't see how that same logic can't be applied to blue? "Everyone" choosing red requires 100% compliance, where as "everyone" choosing blue would still protect outliers, as 50% should be doable.
Red is singular safety but there's a lot of voices that want to punish non-red selectors, as if red is the only "correct" choice. Choosing red protects 0 people who think/feel different, but blue protects 50% that pick different. 50% is easier than 100%.
Everyone in the world has to take a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press?
