Today on Gone Medieval for your Halloween delight, I wrote you all a little something on the ghostly animals and what medieval monks think is scary. Spoiler - it's a lot different to what we find frightening. I think that's neat.

Once again, folx - if you want to leave this fascist cesspit of a site, Bluesky is where it's at imo. Currently experiencing a substantial new influx of users (ooh I wonder why?). I'm anandamide on there, also (obv).
Other Options Exist, but Bluesky is the most fun-Twitter-like. I mainly hang out on Mastodon, but it's not a twitter replacement and doesn't want to be (which is why I enjoy it 🙃). Bluesky definitely scratches the itch, for me.
@Beardynoise I'm gay but came out wrong and for some impossible reason I thought the photo on the left was Sabrina The Teenage Witch. Point still stands.
@CasPiancey I worry that as a Brit I would totally do this, since jaywalking isn't a thing over here (it's just "crossing the road"), OTOH I've heard our culture is surprisingly alike in that we both have massive lists of unspoken societal rules, so maybe I'd just unthinkingly fall in line
@Beardynoise A mutual once posted that thinking of protest as a right is completely muddled, because protest is something you just *do*, and if you're doing it properly you will always piss off the state. The whole idea of permitted protest is nonsensical
Migration is a freedom to which everyone should be entitled and it is all the worst sort of things to pretend it needs to be “justified” on any basis other than it is what individuals happen to want to do.
@joshsavage Also and v much not the point: "rawdogging public transport" = *not talking to anyone*, that is literally part of the point, words mean things and it's too soon to change the meaning of the word rawdogging when we've already apparently just changed it from the proper sex meaning
