#SSB successfully conducted the finals of the 30th annual debate competition for Central Armed Police Forces (#CAPFs) under the aegis of the National Human Rights Commission (#NHRC) at the Atal Akshaya Urja Bhawan Auditorium, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.

The finalists debated the topic: “Human rights can be observed by paramilitary forces without compromising national security concerns.”

Hon’ble NHRC Chairperson, Justice Shri V. Ramasubramanian was Chief Guest and other senior dignitaries, including Smt Vijaya Bharathi Sayani, Member, NHRC; Sh. Bharat Lal, Secretary General & CEO, NHRC; Sh. Anand Swaroop, IPS, DG (Investigation), NHRC; Dr. Anupama Nilekar Chandra, IPS, SDG SSB; and Sh. Joginder Singh (Law), NHRC, attended the event.

Sixteen participants from various CAPFs—including Assam Rifles, SSB, #CISF, #BSF, and #NSG—presented insightful arguments both for and against the motion (Hindi & English).CISF lifted the running trophy as the Best Team, while the NHRC Chairperson presented individual awards to the six winners of the Hindi and English debate competitions.

The distinguished jury—Smt Vijaya Bharathi Sayani (Chief of Jury), Dr. Meeran Chadha Borwankar, IPS, DG (Retd.), BPR&D, and Prof. Rajni Abbi, Director, South Campus, Delhi University—evaluated the performances ensuring a rigorous and fair assessment.

#SSB congratulates all participants and thanks #NHRC for its continued support in promoting a rights-oriented operational ethos within CAPFs.
