Indigenous peoples cannot be reduced to the status of a 'minority' in their own ancestral lands.

In every civilized country, the original inhabitants are recognized as the foundational population and are granted the highest constitutional priority, legal safeguards, and cultural protection.

This principle explains why successive Awami League governments never officially classified the Sanatani Hindus as a minority community and never created a dedicated Ministry or Minister for Minorities. Yet this deliberate non-classification does not relieve the state or society of its fundamental duty to protect them.

The systematic persecution of Bangladesh's indigenous Hindu population in their own homeland remains wholly unacceptable.
