@jimthegiant The reason why tyrants are able to consolidate coercive power so easily is that their subjects believe they have just authority to rule. Eliminate that mass superstition and the future will look nothing like the past.
I had a great time interviewing the always thoughtful, always fun Patrick Smith @NotGovernor. See below for the video link.
FYI, we’ll both be speaking at Larken Rose’s upcoming event ‘“Approaching Humanity”. Links are in the show notes. @larken_rose
I am very honored to be speaking / co-hosting at Larken's upcoming Approaching Humanity event in Arizona with some of the coolest liberty people on the planet.

AI is making it possible for me to get years of my backlogged tasks done in a handful of days.
Did you know that David Friedman was a Ph.D. in theoretical physics, and never took a single for-credit course in economics or law—yet he still became a leading scholar in both fields through independent study? Badass.
Did you guys know that Big Spoon self-studied his way to being a lawyer and when met with a government requirement for non-graduates to apprentice for 5 years rather than only 3 for college men, he just did it anyway at 3. Openly challenging the courts on it, he won, and the law was repealed in 1836.
He viewed licensing laws as naked class legislation—“no one has yet ever dared advocate, in direct terms, so monstrous a principle as that the rich ought to be protected by law from the competition of the poor.”
Cops are not your friends. Memorize and repeat:
"I do not answer questions. I do not consent to searches. Am I being detained or am I free to go?"
Spread the word.
@shepard_thinks published a new book!!!
The Consent Principle: The Moral Line Between Freedom and Force
It's only $.99 for the first week to thank people that leave strong reviews after purchasing! Go pick it up!

Imagine how many brain cells one has to disable to call robbing people at police gun point "earning money". Absolute indoctrination. We need serious alternatives to these statist curriculums for our children. Even homeschooling is not immune.
(my kids saw this and came and got me to laugh about it with them)
((which made me extremely proud))
If you demand your consent and property be respected while violating others' consent and property, you're implicitly claiming superior moral authority, which cannot be substantiated.

I find it to be a huge tell when a republican fights really hard against the peaceful behavior that is immigration instead of the actual problems they will tell you exist because of it:
Welfare (actual theft)? Fight to abolish that!
Free riding tax-based services (actual theft)? Fight to abolish those!
Forced association (actual consent and property violation)? Fight to abolish those!
But no—instead they'll just look you in the eye and bitch about some collectivist notion of foreigners benefiting more than others from all this state-violence welfare collectivism. Never fight the collectivism, the root cause of the whole problem... nonono...
A tell for what? Smooth brained political cult membership.
Baby back bitch shit.
Call for Dissenters!
One of my favorite philosophical pursuits is wandering the agora like Socrates—seeking out folks who can show me where I'm wrong so that I may come to believe as many true things as possible and disbelieve as many false things as possible. To that end, this is an open invitation for anyone who thinks I'm wrong on any of the following positions:
1. Taxation is theft and should be abolished.
2. All governments are criminal cartels that should be abolished.
3. Abortion is murder. It's only justifiable in cases of non-consensual impregnation, with culpability for the murder on the perpetrator.
4. Intellectual property is an invalid form of property and should be abolished.
5. All natural law theories of rights all fail. Objective morality is an unsubstantiated position.
6. Argumentation Ethics isn't a moral philosophy and fails logically as anything else.
7. Closed government borders is an invalid and contradictory position for any libertarian to hold.
8. There is no such thing as free speech—only property rights.
9. Rights should not be afforded to people that do not (or have not, without restitution) reciprocate them. IE: Killing killers is perfectly acceptable.
10. Moral veganism is pathological altruism.
11. Anarcho-capitalism is the only anarchism—all others are either a distinction without a difference or outright contradictions.
12. A consistent libertarian is the same thing as an "anarcho-capitalist", "anarchist", or "voluntaryist".
13. Agorism is not an effective strategy or tactic to weaken the state.
14. The Libertarian Pahtay is a net negative for liberty activism.
15. Almost all voting is immoral and unlibertarian.
If you've heard me take any other position you think I'm wrong on you may choose that as well.
Agreements:
1. To accept, you must be open to the possibility that you might be wrong. I'll show up with the same mindset.
2. Expect a relaxed, chill conversation. This is not debate-bro filth.
3. It'll be a voice chat on Discord (one-on-one for focused discussion).
4. It can be private or recorded and shared publicly (your choice, though I prefer public so others can learn from it).
