Also having schizophrenia, bipolar, BPD, an ED, any other mental illness or personal struggle doesn’t make you stupid, childish, deficient or less deserving in some way. I think medical professionals in particular need to understand that.
What I’m saying is you can be highly intelligent and struggle severely with mental illness. Having high intelligence doesn’t make your suffering any less valid than anyone else. I just wish people would understand that.
Often people don’t seem to realise that you can be extremely smart and capable of studying or grasping concepts most ‘normal’ people struggle to understand but have crippling anxiety and mental health issues and are unable to leave the house, have a job and interact with people.
My mental illness and my intelligence aren’t mutually exclusive. (If anything being highly intelligent makes it worse, but that’s a whole different thing I won’t get into right now.)
I would give up everything I own and all the money I have to go back to my childhood and spend one more day with my grandmother. All I have now are memories but that’s better than nothing.
Thinking of my childhood before age 10, I felt so happy, carefree and loved. Knowing I’ll never have that feeling again makes me just feel empty. And alone.
I want to buy some Lululemon leggings but I don’t know what size I am 😐 I guess will just have to guess the size and sell them if they don’t fit. Or just not buy them, that’s an option too.
People will be like “end the stigma around mental illness” but still judge you if you’re unemployed or single or not completely self-sufficient or healthy or perfectly groomed or still live with parents and don’t see the hypocrisy in that whatsoever
