@901Lulu If she is institutionalized, they do regular re-evaluations to see if she should be released, so she could get out pretty quickly. This is why I think jail is the better option.

@TerryDeangelo3 It means, when you are experiencing PASSIVE suicidal ideation that is not grounds for hospitalization. Only when the ideation turns active (having plan and intent) is there grounds for hospitalization.
