South Bridge this afternoon. The Spaces for People pavement extensions need to be reinstated if not permanently then at least for high summer. South Bridge and George IV Bridge has become a no go zone for the disabled/wee bairns in push chairs etc. 1/2
Buses are not delayed by “festival traffic.” They are being delayed because Edinburgh still allows motorists to drive almost anywhere they like through the city centre - even when an Olympic-scale event is taking place.
It’s a great thing that the festivals are largely walkable.

@Edinburgh_CC@balfourbeatty Thanks for confirming. The vast majority of users of the bridge are pedestrians which are being penned in on the narrow pavement on the east side. Why did the council prioritise motorised over pedestrian access?
