UCT MedTech and BMERC welcome Amref International University (AMIU) and Partners from Kenya.
This morning we had the honour of hosting an esteemed delegation from Amref International University (AMIU) in Nairobi, Kenya, along with distinguished partners from the healthcare and education sectors. The visit brought together innovative minds and leaders in healthcare, including Miheer Patel, Director at DesignMatic Ltd, Kenya; Timothy Sato, Academic Coordinator at Kampala University in Kenya; Katherine Mung'au from WAN-AI; and Jesse Oyieke, Head of Department - Nursing and Midwifery Sciences at AMIU.
The primary aim of this visit was to foster a mutual understanding of the work being done at UCT MedTech, understand how we have set up operations at the UCT MedTech labs in the hopes of starting their own Biomedical Engineering programme at AMIU, explore opportunities for knowledge exchange and lay the groundwork for potential collaborations that promise to push the boundaries of healthcare education and technology!
