@C_Fitz_ We have some wonderful students who are genuinely passionate about their language and it is such a positive vibe. They are good ambassadors and genuinely lovely students. I have zero Irish skills but I appreciate their bilingual skills.
@Chris_McClem We recently stayed in Ilunion Miramar, Fuengirola and it was very accessible. There were many families with disabled children and young people. They had some sort of accreditation for being accessible. It was a lovely, inclusive atmosphere 🥰
We want to hear from people with disabilities and advocates!
Help shape the topics of discussion for the next Parliament.
Take the survey now.
Deadline: Monday 4 August 2025.
@DRDisabilityReb How should disabled people mitigate the additional costs of travel that other typical people don’t have to pay for? How should car adaptations be paid for, OTHER than the disabled person’s disability benefit mobility component? Could anyone afford bespoke adaptations?

Why are there more PIP claims? Because chronic illness has exploded. Long NHS waits. No social care. No early help. That’s not fraud. That’s failure. #TakingThePIP
Almost 20 years being frequent flyers in this department with H from birth, constant blood counts, monitoring, transfusions, chemo, transplant, oral medicine monitoring, and today she goodbye in good health. Tear in my eye. Thanks to all staff over the years. #FanconiAnaemia
1) I'm very concerned that @leicesterliz avowed determination that most #PIP assessments will be face to face will mean an end to "light touch" assessments for permanently & progressively #disabled persons like me.
Unbelievable. You’ve literally just confirmed today that carers will lose their allowance as soon as PIP benefits stop — worsening already elevated mental anguish for carers, nearly all of whom are also terrified about how to provide dignity to their loved ones without PIP.
Thank you @BBCTalkback inviting myself @WSN_NI @actnforchildren & @UNISONNI discussing the long awaited anti-poverty strategy (13 mins on). Poverty exists in NI with 200,000 ppl facing hunger and hardship everyday. https://t.co/LmuOSeUi70
Happy publication day to Kincora: Britain's Shame by Chris Moore!

In 1945, six women pulled off a computing miracle.
They programmed the world’s first computer—with no manuals, no training.
Then, a SINGLE assumption erased them from tech history for decades.
The story of how ONE photo nearly deleted computing’s female founders: 🧵
BREAKING: A Russian scientist who opposed Putin’s war, fled Russia & found work at Harvard was detained at Logan Airport returning from a French academic conference and has been sent to an immigration detention center in Louisiana for deportation to Russia https://t.co/tHRM015aMP
In the PfG the NI Childcare Subsidy Scheme is noted as a success. However, its value is currently being totally wiped out by providers who have upped their prices - as Becca @MeltedParentsNI outlines - some by hundreds of £s a month.
This is an absolute disgrace 😡
No adequate provision is available across NI for severely disabled children & adults in terms of both respite & residential care options.
These disabled children don't disappear after their time in Special School.
Where's the longterm planning?
A new PhD opportunity just landed with our good friends @ChildRightsQUB who we've been working with alongside @SCUKNI to understand the impact of #SocialSecurity policies on children's experiences of poverty. It's time to hear from children themselves: https://t.co/BtYhyM91Ms
