To the Jew First

There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves thrust out. Luke 13:28

In an effort to make Christians look like bigots, skeptics will often ask if Jewish people will end up in hell because they don't embrace Jesus. However, here we have the fathers of the Jewish nation included in the kingdom of God. Jesus said that Abra-ham, Isaac, Jacob, and all of the prophets will be in the kingdom of God. None of these godly men were saved because they were holy but because they trusted God's mercy. Jesus said, “Abraham rejoiced to see my day, ” and Hebrews chapter 11 lists those Jews who were saved by grace through justification by faith. Christianity rests on a Jewish Messiah, who was promised in the Jewish Scripture. All of the disciples were Jewish. The first five thousand who were saved were Jewish. The gospel was birthed in the land of the Jews and taken to the Jew first before it went to the Gentiles.

All around us we can see fulfilled Bible prophecies, signs indicating that the return of Jesus Christ is drawing near.

As followers of Christ, we should be watching for Him. We need to be ready to go.

Jesus, speaking about His return, said, “Be dressed for service and keep your lamps burning, as though you were waiting for your master to return from the wedding feast. . . . The servants who are ready and waiting for his return will be rewarded” (Luke 12:35–37 NLT).

Are you ready for His return? To be ready means to be engaged in activities that you wouldn’t be ashamed to be doing if Jesus were to return.

It’s a good idea to periodically ask ourselves this question: This place that I am about to go, this thing that I am about to do, would I be embarrassed if I were doing it when Jesus came back?”

Think about your plans. Is there anything you will be doing today, tonight, or tomorrow that you would be ashamed to do if Christ were to return? If so, then change your plans. You want to be ready for His return.

We want to thank everybody for the well wishes. Yes, we are in the Mediterranean world currently, but we are safe. We were not scheduled to enter Israel’s borders until October 10. At this point, it’s unclear how the current happenings in Israel will impact the remainder of our trip. We will let you know more as more information becomes available to us. In the meantime, everyone’s prayers for our safety, and for the safety of our entire traveling group, are much appreciated. At bare minimum, all of us should take away from this how ridiculous the notion of the two-state solution is. The Gaza Strip, where the rocket attacks have been launched from in the current crisis, was given to the Palestinians in 2005. They had one and only one election in which they elected Hamas. Since that time this area has been used as a beach-head to not only attack the Jewish people within the land of Israel via various rocket attacks, but to also kidnap Israeli women and children. Within the last twenty-four hours they have used that narrow strip within Israel’s southwestern border to launch seven-thousand rockets into Israel proper, arguably with the assistance of Russia and Iran. From this standpoint, it does not look as if the so called two-state solution is working very well. With all of that being said, does it make any real sense for the nation of Israel to now also give away the West Bank, or Judea and Samaria, to the Palestinians, which is what the Biden Administration and the world community are currently demanding? https://t.co/pk1rGndZzb
