Believe it or not a form of this government robbery already exists in Ireland 🇮🇪. We already have a highly controversial, specific tax on unrealised gains.
This existing mechanism is known as the Deemed Disposal regime.
Under Irish tax law, if you invest in retail funds, like Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) or certain life assurance products, you are subject to an automatic tax on your unrealized gains every 8 years.
Even if you do not sell your ETF, on the 8th anniversary of buying it, the law pretends (deems) that you sold it. If the investment grew in value, you are hit with a heavy tax on those "paper" profits.
The Rate: Following changes in Budget 2026, this exit tax rate is 38% (reduced slightly from its previous high of 41%).
Forcing people to pay tax on money they haven't actually cashed out forces investors to either liquidate part of their portfolio or keep large sums of cash on hand, killing the power of compound interest. How long before this policy extends to everything you own, making it impossible by default to own anything of value.
You will literally own nothing, as they say, but probably won't be happy about it.
A police officer involved in the arrest of Henry Nowak has resigned from shame - yet the top brass remain.
Alexis Boone (L) Sam de Reya and Robert France (R) continue in their respective six-figure roles at @HantsPolice. They all need to apologise and resign.
Mohammed committed 22 crimes, including sexuaI abuse of three 16 year old schoolgirls, and was sentenced to 15 months in prison. British taxi driver Andrew was sentenced to 90 months in prison for social media posts in Southport. If Andrew had been named Mohammed, he would never have spent a day in prison. This is Keir Starmer's UK.
Man who took the knee for a foreign criminal and called everyone far-right after Southport is now accusing people of "whipping up" division over Henry Nowak.
Keir Starmer: “there is no such thing as two-tier policing”.
Police chiefs today: “we will review controversial guidance advising officers to treat ethnic minorities differently”.
The absurdity of modern Britain.
Some might say this is performative but I think it sends an important message as Labour MPs show solidarity with the Nowak family.
Oh hang on this is for a foreign criminal arrested by foreign police in a foreign country. The jokes.
During the BLM riots in the UK, Leftists tore down a statue & chucked it in the river. Same quislings who say we shouldn't 'politicise' Henry Nowak.
