1. “My wife and I with my former primary school teacher…” is not a complete sentence. It has no main verb. It needs something like “are pictured with,” “posed with,” or “met.”

2. We say on the opening day of the term, not at the opening day.

3. “27yrs” is informal shorthand. Write 27 years.

4. Small style points:
• “Mrs” is usually written “Mrs.”
• “English teacher” sounds more natural than “teacher of English.”

A version that would have done your teacher more honour: “My wife and I posed with my former primary-school English teacher, Mrs. Aliti Jane Akiiki, on the opening day of the term. She last taught me 27 years ago!”
