@clarityysix Halo studios did something neat for HCS. They invited pro players to try the early game. Hero shooter days onward then told them they cant compete in infinite for 2 years after it launched. The guys that saved the game. Then cancelled support and HCS after 4 years
@minded621@Zomb01YT Did you only play the multiplayer disc? There was a main story, it opens to a battle for Earth! Covenant on our doorstep! Then get this! YOU PLAY AS AN ELITE just a few levels later. Whos the enemy you ask? THE BRUTES!!! now you have to stop the brutes from firing Halo!
@ChiefCanuck Start over (again) is not what i want. Start Over, entirely. Dont tell halo 1- but make a spartan story about a battle for a halo against the covenant. No master chief. His story is told.
@ShittyHaloTakes In the fans defense: remember what happened last time halo changed companies! I cannot blame them for being worried… what if we had to repeat the last 15 years
@WoodstarForges Dont you like that the ‘sequel’ to infinite is told in a book and the one elite boss survived?. I wish 343 would have taken more from Halo 2 and just made a good, strong story.
Here's my free advice to Activision on how to proceed with Halo:
Step 1: Contact and request an audience with the following original Halo/Bungie devs: Jaime Griesemer, Chris Barrett, Marty O'Donnell, and Marcus Lehto.
The goal of the conversations should be to answer the following questions: "How and why did the 343 Halo games not live up to the Bungie Halo games? How can future Halo games do better in this regard?"
Have those discussions. See if you can find a common understanding. Beyond that, the franchise is Activision's to find success or failure. But perform this necessary due diligence immediately.
Let me use a hypothetical to help make the point:
Let's say that I was given the game director role on the next Half-Life game. And then I was asked, "Hey, would you like to meet and chat with some of the original devs from Half-Life1/2? They would be happy to share their knowledge." My answer would be "Yes, of course. Only a fucking idiot would choose NOT to talk w the original devs."
It would seem that 343/Halo Studios didn't see this as an important part of the process.. and we all know how that ended.
I hope Activision doesn't make the same mistake.
@emiya_ze Infinite was a hero shooter for the X amount of its development right? They brought in playtesters for it. 343 was going the wrong way for a long time
Someone pointed out that I, along with the original team, are listed first in the credits for WoW Forever.
I dunno what to say, this is deeply moving and they didn't have to do that. The new team is cooking so hard on it and deserves the credit for bringing it back.
Thank you guys for preserving the legacy.
