In my first week as governor, I’ll email all state government bureaucrats asking them a simple question:

"What did you get done this week? List 5 things."

—If they don’t respond, they’re FIRED.

—If they respond with less than 5 things, they’re not working hard enough to deserve a taxpayer-funded paycheck, and they’re FIRED.

—If they respond with 5 things, and any one of them is "I hosted DEI seminars," "I gave taxpayer money to illegals," "I integrated men into women’s sports,” they're FIRED.

—If any ask "Why are YOU doing this?" Because YOU are the one working for the taxpayers of Florida. YOU are the one refusing to explain what you’ve done to earn your paycheck. And because YOU don’t believe you should be held accountable to the people paying your salary, YOU can pack your bags.

Here’s the truth: Accountability is not cruel. It is how every successful organization operates. It's how I ran my business for years.

And that’s the approach I’ll bring to the Governor's Office. It's time to cut waste, fraud, and foolishness, eliminate the bureaucracy, and reward hard-working people who actually do their jobs.

To the thousands of state employees who work hard every day, answer the phone, solve problems, and serve the people of Florida, you will always have a friend in me. In fact, I'll use a big chunk of the money we save by firing under-productive workers to raise your pay.

It's just that simple. I'd be honored to earn your vote in the Republican primary on August 18th.
