@skymagpie EXACTLY! Zul'jan and Zul'jarra's different thought process and mindsets being able to work in tandem thanks to their strong sibling bond would have been perfect!
Zul'jan the listener of the people, Zul'jarra the listener of the Loa. A duty that would have torn one, they share.
Blood elf plot: don’t have blind faith
Void elf plot: there’s no such thing as bad magic
Haranir plot: I’d break every taboo to save my people
Zul’jan plot: aiiiiieeeeeeee, I should’ve had blind faith and not break any tabboo because this bad magic is corrupting me!
The cozy unity vibes really ruins a lot about the story as it's lacking completely in relatability in an almost fundamental human level
When was the last time you got slapped in the face by a random person and thought diplomatic thoughts and not immediately go fuck this asshole
Blizzard wants to appeal to younger players, I get it. They want the game to last and bring in younger generations. They’re focusing on more cozy vibes, the writing is friendly and safe. Family and friendship overcome evil. But you know what? It’s terrible and genuinely sucks.
I like it better than the all-white from 12.0 at least, but it really is such a shame that all the color from the void elves got totally drained lol
I at least wish specific subgroups could have kept the color palette from their heritage set, like the Riftwalkers.
@BaalTheWarlock I need Aelyse to build and ultimately be key to a Scarlet cell in Stormwind after which we kill her and Arator and everyone who thought they had a chance at fixing her is sad and cries because she didn't want to change, she's a coward trying to save her own skin
For me personally I consider the Horde to be cozier because they generally live in hotter/warmer climates like myself (Australia)
The problem being that Blizzard's definition of cozy is narrowly just northern cold Euro climates/cultures and that's boring BECAUSE IT'S LIMITED!!!
@andonis210@that_kind_oforc The Alliance fits the Cozy Vibes because they're more generic and standard. The Alliance has less teeth and aren't as rough around the edges, or have the kind of past the Horde has (Sylvanas and Garrosh)
The Alliance is passive and prettier to look at, to Blizz. Seemingly.
@that_kind_oforc I will say though, um what exactly could they even DO with Thrall in TLT?
Cause if he's bouncing off from Anduin, then it's very easy for them to centre Anduin AGAIN 🤢
Please, I can't live through another expansion of Alliance Devils thinking they matter most
People tend to forget but we saw in flashbacks that Kregg is as old(ish) as Thragg and still looks the same
I have a theory that similar to Conquest and Kregg (who both lost an eye) Nolan was permanently disabled by the Virus, leading him to age quicker than other Viltrumites
@BaalTheWarlock I mean the very easy solution for the Loa not helping could be y'know, THE FUCKING SCOURGE KILLING EVERYTHING FOR MILES AROUND!!!! So the Loa were weakened (followers killed + the environmental damage) and they couldn't do much anymore yet but Zul'jin being desperate, and so on
Stream‑of‑consciousness rant: WoW always funnels worldbuilding and characterization to the Alliance, while the Horde keeps losing characters, getting sabotaged, and nobody seems interested in fixing their appeal.
Which feeds into itself by making writers write more Alliance POV.
Everyone wakes up, naturally pissed, and a few leave before a bar fight starts with all the hostilities coming to the surface again
And then, Khadgar hires another Mage who also secretly spikes the drinks and place with magic that makes everyone flirty and so the cycle repeats
The only saving grace for this, is if they write of someone approaching our PC asking us if we've seen their friend/family or whatever, we notice the concerned look and they tell us that they haven't been seen in days since they said that they'll visit there
The arcantina is written for 5 year olds watching Dora the explorer and I won’t apologise for thinking that.
Everyone talks the same, and they all sound lobotomised and brain dead.
They can keep this if this is the neutral future Blizz wants for wow. This ain’t for me
We find out that it's actually the caretaker Khadgar put in place for the Arcantina is actually a deeply upset and 'liberal' individual whose sick of all war (justified or not) and seeks to keep everyone there for happy times, we are forced to put him down to break the spell
