@mmburton TY Maggie! I look forward to following along. I lived in a jurisdiction that permitted backyard developments. It was great in theory but once built and lived in for a year, lots of folks were evicted and units were converted to airbnb. Would there be anything to mitigate this?

It's not "ungrateful" to acknowledge that, while your basic physical needs may have been met, you were also subject to verbal abuse or emotional neglect.

"But I wasn't cold or starving like some people" has short circuited recovery for LOTS of legit trauma survivors.

@kristinaennis I wish St. Clare's had a space like this. The care at SC is 10000% superior to HSC but the ICU waiting area has zero privacy and there is no waiting area for special care patients.

@kristinaennis You popped up in my feed and I immediately knew what room you were talking about. Andrea Powell's room was a true gift when I needed it. The other rooms were filthy and disheveled. It was clean, peaceful and integral to grounding myself amongst the chaos and exhaustion.

@CourtNL2 Lived there for 6 years and was SO impressed with many things the gov did/does. I always said "wow, NL could learn A LOT". Didn't matter if it was health care, Arts funding, harm reduction etc. Their free mental health + addictions counselling program is saving lives.

@KeithFitz81 Also it's horrifying the # of people outing substance users in that group. I get that families are at their witts end and I don't think this stuff needs to be hidden (it's important to talk about substance use openly). But outing people on a public fbook group is NOT it!!!

Then a mini city plow + salter contraption would go around to do a final pass. And city was responsible for main thoroughfares. It was great. Everyone contributed to a walkable city

@kerriclaireneil @CityofStJohns SO irked about the sidewalk situation. Why does NO ONE shovel the sidewalk outside their homes and businesses? And why does the city block the ends? If everyone who is physically able to did their part, maybe COSJ would be more inclined to not block the ends and vice versa?
