@Rrrrnessa Whew. I didn’t realise how much this would relate as an American working and living in the UK (for 13 years). I’m lucky that my coworkers deal with my directness much better than others. It hasn’t been a problem in this workplace, but was clearly a problem in others.
“Apprenticeships help young people prepare for employment - “but not enough are able to access them”, Dr Barry says.”

This personal for me. My daughter had Mongolian Blue Spots on her forehead and bum. I had SO many horrible comments from the public and GPs. Can't believe this mum was actually arrested!
A breastfeeding mum was separated from her 6mo baby & locked in a cell for 20 hrs after staff at Basingstoke & North Hampshire Hospital had her arrested on suspicion of child neglect after mistaking her son's ‘blue spot’ birthmarks for bruises. Devastating https://t.co/Z8xeh9vqCz
@melissasigodo My daughter was born with the same spot on her forehead. She's mixed Black and white, so was actually quite pale when she was born. The amount of times I was accused in public of abusing my baby, as a new mum, was pretty awful. Poor mum, it really sucks.

Really excited to finally launch this work that I led on for Youth Futures, working with NatCen. Excellent use of data, and very applicable locally. Also recommend viewing the local data on our Data Dashboard (https://t.co/TG2dIzFkRZ).

Great to see this new research from @YF_Foundation. At @WestMids_CA, we’ll be using it to better understand which young people are most at risk of becoming NEET, and why, and to design solutions to mitigate these risks.
We are very proud of the #Data Dashboard we have created together with @YF_Foundation. It uses #OpenData from the @ONS & presents the current youth labour situation. Using these visualisations can help improve youth employment outcomes.
