#ucr150 @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely#RacialJustice teachers have had to buy their class supplies & cops are always funded enough to to never pay their materials. That money should be going to help bring equity amoung students of color and their peers.
Yep. Let’s reimagine colleges. They should seriously consider divestment from police, and instead more investment in Black students and other marginalized population! #racialjustice

Students are not in the right mindset as of now. So much is going on for a student to focus on a single assignment. We are not using this as an excuse to get an easy A. There are students out there protesting for justice. Let's become a unit and fight for what is right. #ucr150
Im on the streets 5 hrs a day protesting. As an POC in the education department I do not understand why you arent supportin your students and their personal or collective life struggles. Cut the final let us fight your battle #ucr150#BLM @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely@EddieComeaux
@IdelisaRosas@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar I completely agree, it angered me to also find out that they are often recruited based on stereotypes. There is not enough regard for their educational or future success. Just personal gain of the system. #ucr150 @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely
Why is it that even in college sports minorities are not treated the same? AAM AND PAM athletes are often strategically recruited for stereotypes positions and are pushed to compromise their academics for the sport.#ucr150@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar
@Adams_Shawntell @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely I agree, the majors the choose and the education experience they receive will affect them long after sports are in their lives. They shouldn’t jeopardize their education for the game. The institutions should encourage them to prioritize learning & not think about profit. #ucr150
Attending an educational institution is for the purposes of an education . Why then are institutes exploiting SA for their talents and not prioritizing their edu?Their games & practices should come second to an edu.PRIORITIES Need to be revised.#Ucr150 @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely
@veeveeand Thank you for sharing this! I think it’s ridiculous that everyone except for the athlete know what is best for them. There seems to always be an answer and a way to limit what student athletes can and can’t do @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely#ucr150
Sports athlete’s lives are controlled in every aspect. And when things can’t be controlled they are made difficult to achieve like transfering, why should athletes face consequences for deciding what’s best for them? @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely
@EmilyRamelot @MisssNallely@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar #Ucr150 i agree and I think the athlete’s safety is being compromised and swept under the rug for the benefit of the fans, institutions, and reputations. They should be more aware of the consequences of injuries!
@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar #Ucr150 symptoms of concussions are often not severely evident and athletes often play through them. Athletes lack the knowledge needed to distinguish their symptoms and are unaware of the consequences. There should be more concern for their safety.
@Kiki_xoxo13@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar #ucr150@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar I completely agree with you Female athletes do not get the recognition they deserve, the lack of recognition from society leads to lack of funding & widens the discrimination gap between female and male athletes .We need to move beyond title IX
#ucr150 @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely title IX was meant to ensure equal educational opportunities b/w genders which is difficult when finances favor masculine sports! Female athletes are just as important as their male counterparts! Let’s not make it about money or revenue.
@Adams_Shawntell @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely#Ucr150 i agree as well . They are not giving enough tine to figure out their best plans. I also think that athletes are not valued enough in the contracts . They are treated as disposable and are not benifiting as much as they should be. These contracts are scams!
@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar #ucr150 it enraged me to find out that athletic scholarships are more commonly one-year renewable scholarships than multi year ones. so essentially their scholarships can depend on their performance.but the NCAA denies the employer/employee relationship
@EmilyRamelot @MisssNallely@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar #ucr150 I agree it is disappointing to know that student athletes are playing for some of the biggest school names globally and because of regulations encouraged by the NCAA they don’t see any compensation. Not fair
