Rupert Lowe calls Britain a "matriarchal society" because we respect women and are not "frightened of female sexuality". I laughed and turned off the podcast.
Whenever I am asked online about the new laws, or I suffer a few jibes using them, I feel a glut in my stomach a large black fizzy pool. I can scarcely imagine what it would be like if I were born a few years later, suffering inane schooling with no ability to look out the window
@joeviewtiful22@KEMOgroyper Big reason why their vision scaled back was because they spent several years developing the slipspace engine, which was apparently subpar despite the long development time. Eventually they scrapped all of Halo: Infinite developed with the engine and moved over to EU5.
@fragmentshore A Scot once related to me that the reason why it’s called “Going on a steamer” or “getting steaming drunk”, was because to circumvent the prohibition of alcohol in certain Scottish districts, you would board a steamship and drink there.
@___jehuty___@usutav I fondly remember my mom bringing me a bowl of pasta to eat as I watched the news report on hoodlums, setting cars on fire in London.
The only employees that caused problems were those from Latin America, quickly fired and told they needed to immediately leave the country or face deportation and a ban from entry to the U.S
Seeing the replies and quotes, as a European who has done this, I now realise what I look and sound like to a liberal. I must come off as a complete neurotic.
The U.S government does need to vet people better albeit. Most of vetting is done by the camps/placement agency.
The U.S. imported 32,470 J-1 camp counselor workers in 2025.
There are just barely 100,000 camp counselor job openings a year per Zippia.
It seems excessive, right?
I've heard some call the state of affairs in Britain as "Draconian", but it is worth remembering that Draco's code was attentive at trying to punish criminals, the current British government focuses on punishing everyone but criminals.
@durbuddhi When they first announced on television that people should do this, I called it ludicrous and that no one would be so insane to bang on pots and pans outside “for our NHS” just because the government told them to. Cut to me being loudly awoken at 5 PM by people doing exactly that
🚨WAITROSE AXES VOLUNTEER WITH SEVERE AUTISM
This is an awful story
Tom Boyd has severe autism but he enjoys stacking shelves so he offered to do it for free at his local Waitrose.
They let him work for SIX HUNDRED HOURS UNPAID over FOUR YEARS
His family asked could he be paid going forward because he's doing such a great job and WAITROSE TOLD HIM TO LEAVE
@waitrose have a heart for christ sake!
The lad is clearly doing a decent job or you wouldn't have had him be your slave for the past 4 years
GIVE TOM A JOB!!!
I did not pay attention to the Lucy Connolly stuff and thought she was that nurse who murdered seven babies, just learnt this was a separate woman called Lucy Letby.
