Why should we leave the physical world, if "Split a piece of wood; I am there. Lift a stone, and you will find me there".
If God is under a stone, or in wood, why should we leave this place? Leaving the physical world doesn’t have to do anything with Gnosticism imo.

Gnosticism doesn't sit right with me. The idea that matter is evil, that the physical world holds no goodness, no truth, no beauty is abhorrent. God put his divine stamp on matter through His physical incarnation. He collapsed the spiritual and physical into One. Gnosticism claims this world is a trap, ironically that worldview itself IS the trap.

Any spirituality that asks you to leave behind the physical is a broken spirituality.
