How are marine species like krill adapted to their environments? What type of genetic variation could help them cope with climate change?
I here announce our paper on the Northern krill, where we take on these questions!

How does a plankton-eating fish evolve into a fast-growing, fish-eating predator? 🐟🤔 We are excited to share our new study in Nature Communications @NatureComms and answer this question! 1/n
Hi all bioinformatics and pop gen friends! Is there a public database out there with pre-computed stats for genetic variation (pi, theta, pN, pS, Tajima's D, etc) for every gene in the human genome?
This research can help us both understand the function of genes with major impact on traits and health, as well as how genetic variation can be important for the resilience of species and ecosystems under climate change. 🌡️🌊
I am happy to announce I am part of the collaborative @uppsalauni + @Stockholm_Uni research project ”CLUPEA -unravelling molecular mechanisms behind adaptation to environmental heterogeneity and change” that was funded by @KAWstiftelsen and is led by Leif Andersson at UU.
We will use the Atlantic herring and its striking adaptations to the Baltic Sea as a model to understand the genetic mechanisms that underlie adaptation to different environmental conditions including salinity and temperature. @balticwaters + @scilifelab capabilities = 💪🐟🧪
Science has picked our paper on the northern krill genomics and adaptation as a highlight from other journals! We should be proud @andreaswallberg! https://t.co/TW3wcQJKUn
