I've worked office jobs for quite a while, but had pretty erratic / odd schedules. (At my previous job I worked 8 -3 and it was great.) My first day at my current 9 - 5, I went home after and immediately fell asleep on the couch. Never been that exhausted in my life. It sucks!
@kelsorly Know nothing about this couple, but I read the initial article about them yesterday and wowwww, that JoBro PR team is already working overtime to immediately portray her as a bad mom because she (checks notes) is working atm, and so the father has to, you know, be a dad? Gross.
Back in Feb I had a sudden and unexpected desire to write again, after not doing so for a decade. Here we are 6 months later...and as of 5 minutes ago I've finished my "little project," aka...450 pages of a post-apocalyptic love (and war) story. So. That's a thing that happened.
"Just a little story," I told myself as I started to write. Aaaannndd it's 217k words, because my inability to shut up apparently also extends to fiction.
@moonyriott@hankgreen This is actually my plan, for the future. My disease + meds cause my hair to fall out. For now I'm having fun abusing it with hair dye, but if a day comes where wigs become the better option...oh, it's gonna be fun. I basically want to be Moira from Schitt's Creek.
@hankgreen Me with my rheumatologist (I have lupus). Also, my rheumatologist is young and cool and I just want her to like me and laugh at all of my jokes about how I'm a werewolf ok
Place at my work is closed today for Eid. Sign on the door says this. Just saw a group of 3 elderly white women walk up to the door, one of them read the sign. "What's it say?" another asked. Answered the 1st woman: "That they're closed for...Hanukkah?" Can't make this shit up.
@notbeforenoon@ask_aubry I was 12 (keep in mind I always looked MUCH younger, though) in a grocery store when a grown man in his 30s (at least) started hitting on me. I was with an older female relative at the time and she acted like I should be flattered, "you're a pretty girl, of course he would" etc.
My husband uses the audio clip from The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent of Nicolas Cage screaming "I'm Nic Fuckiiiiiiiiiiing WOO Cage!" as his morning alarm now. It's...a strange way to wake up in the morning.
34-year-old me: I am so above any of this internet drama.
Drunk me at the Indian restaurant, waiting for my to-go order: so are you team selena or team hailey
@SawyerMerritt@davidfaber I'll do it. Sounds like the new CEO just has to sit there and get blamed for all of the tomfoolery that Musk will still get up to while making Twitter even worse, while getting paid a tech CEO salary. I've worked retail, so I've had worse gigs.
I love that I can tell the schools are out for winter break, because 85% of calls I now get at work feature children screaming in the background, and the adults calling sound The Most Over It.
