A pacified you might lead to a calmer world. But only in a time of peace.
In the face of real-world problems, your pacification will mean you're less effective.
You are doing the world a disservice by being pacified. The world needs you to be effective.
Be effective, not calm.
Not making a decision still is a decision you're making.
Every moment there's a million decisions you could be making and you're not.
Every reaction could be anything.
In the few moments you get before you react, decide clearly what it is you choose to actually do.
How cute of you to think you really had anything to lose.
You already know you're dead.
The only thing you could possibly lose is the spark in your eyes.
The only thing you really ever had was the deep understanding that you have nothing to lose.
In the world championship ring, you don't ask the other boxer to punch softer.
You ask yourself to be more powerful.
You can cry however long you want that it sucks. The only way it gets better is if you use whatever fuel you have and do something about it.
The craziest excuse for not doing audacious things is... "It's hard".
Yes, its fucking hard. Obviously it's stupendously difficult. What did you expect?
What you actually mean to tell me is: You're not the kind of person who does hard things? Or you just don't care enough.
Don't be afraid to win messy!
Crawling your last 100 meters is not humiliating.
Collapsing on the finish line is not "ugly".
A knockout when your face is full of blood is still a knockout.
Bearly winning is still winning.
It's just more glorious than having no challenges.
You are neither as good, nor as bad as you think you are. You are as average as the people around you, but you are the average of the people around you.
If you want more than what you've been given, rejection is the entry price.
You have to accept rejection for your goals to accept you.
Get out your spoon & get ready to eat shit.
Your path is steep enough as is.
No need to keep dragging tightly the past on your journey. You don't win harder, or get more admiration for additional suffering.
You're free to let go of what has been in order to make room for what will be.
In the movies a training montage lasts 5 minutes.
Usain Bolt said: "I trained 4 years to run 9 seconds."
An olimpian trains for decades to even get the chance to compete for the gold.
Just because it's taking you long, doesn't mean you're not doing the exact right thing.
My price your terms, your terms my price.
You either negociate on the price (how big a goal is), or on terms (what NEEEDS to get done for that goal).
"Life" is making a contract with you, but it's always a negotiation.
If you want AUDACIOUS goals, you MUST accept the terms.
Physical environment STILL MATTERS more than almost anything else.
I asked one of THE PEOPLE WHO DEPLOYED THE INTERNET about starting an organization remotely, and he was against it.
One of the biggest advocates of the remote world still suggests we focus on the physical world.
At any moment you can act according to one of 3 people want:
-Yourself right now,
-Yourself 5 years from now,
-Or other people.
Choose wisely who's wants matter more to you.
In the simplest terms, to succeed:
Learn the right lesson, repeat the successful action. PERIOD.
If you didn't get what you wanted, you haven't learned the right lesson.
If you did, then you changed your actions.
Do more of the successful actions.
End of story.
The exact same person will be:
Applauded while they start to work on a goal.
Admired when they get to some success but are still the underdog.
Despised and booed when they became a bit too successful.
Don't think you are special. The public will treat you exactly the same.
The American Revolution started in a coffeehouse.
The Oscars started as a dinner in a restaurant.
The World Economic Forum started as a conference to teach European executives about American practices.
How you start doesn't matter. Only the context and the consistency matter.
A mentor of mine once said:
"You can't empower people. You can't GIVE them power. You can only give them education. They have to TAKE the power with their own hands."
Education (the RIGHT kind, the skills, the understanding of how the world works) is the closest thing to POWER.
