@AlexHooper78640 I mean it creates a vicious cycle, extremely high expectations, extremely high frustration, less tolerance, less patience, less support interactions, less reviews, less ranking, less installs, less revenue, less ways to meet extremely high expectations.
Yes this seems plausible. I know how frustrated I get whenever I hit any blocker with AI and how quickly I ask for alternatives for automations.
Al also makes us less tolerant with other people because it understands our nonsense while people don’t always. And so they abandon things instead of reaching for support, even in simple cases.
@harleyf@chaptersindigo I think this could really resonate with kids who don’t see themselves following a traditional well traced path. Getting one for my 6 yo. Thank you Harley!
Did not know about the fox and hedgehog founder dichotomy. Learned about it from a podcast.
Fox would be the one chasing new opportunities saying yes and getting all excited.
Hedgehog pricks up and says no a lot.
The person explained that the fox needs the hedgehog for things to work and it's very true in our case.
I'm the fox and Robert, my co-founder, the hedgehog.
What's funny is that the hedgehog is actually my favorite animal. It even goes so far as me writing a children's book for my daughter about hedgehogs. 🦔
It's one of those rare moments where life just make sense on a whole other level.
@denniscessan Since I look forward to meeting you one day at Dot Dev or another Shopify event how about we make it a bet and whoever loses buys the other one a drink? 🤝
Maybe because they have the cash from the other business they can negotiate better prices with their providers and this only gets better with scale?
Also I imagine they will be entering multiple large categories in time (bundles or subscriptions would be something obvious) and if they cross sell they can make email a loss leader and make up for it in other areas.
For a long time I didn’t understand the 15/month for reviews and now it’s obvious it was a winner for them. Maybe this will be the same? 🤷♂️
@leafguy403 That’s tremendous congrats! And I hope you continue the journey and make it your lifestyle. Taking inspiration from you to try again myself. 💪
@danielpatricio@malisauskasLT@Nate_Google_ I’d also add the benefit of the developer’s experience seeing what drives value for many brands and creating an onboarding flow meant to get you to value asap. So you’re also saving time and not having to do the research.
