Netanyahu on 60 minutes.
Like a magician performing a trick, he grabs the interviewer’s phone and said the quiet part out loud.
“I can paint you as a monster. If I say it often enough, people will believe it.”
It ain’t a confession, it’s the combination of a threat mixed with hubris. He just can’t help himself.
Support in America continues to plummet, Gaza is a graveyard, and Netanyahu’s big insight on 60 Minutes was that the real war is your news feed.
It’s social media that’s the “eighth front.”
Not the bombing; not the death toll; but the fact that the pictures of tens of thousands of dead children and IDF soldiers mocking those dead children and smashing Christian churches got out.
If you watch the rest of the interview, he goes on: “we sent texts, we dropped leaflets, armies miss, civilians die, it wasn’t deliberate…” “the Texan who flipped on Israel was actually a bot in Pakistan”.
He addresses everything except: maybe people watched what we did and recoiled.
He ain’t answering for war crimes. He’s annoyed that there were witnesses. He talks like your disgust is enemy fire and your phone is occupied territory.
The hubris and posture of a man who thinks he can do anything to anyone, sell it to everyone, and then dare anyone to stop him.
