Communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, citizenship, and character. All embedded in Math, Science, and ELA curricula through one simple coding activity. 37 students, no chaos, 100% engagement @fathergorman#lcsdprolearning#lcsdtech
Congratulations to the latest group of @i_lcsd level 1, Google Certified Educators. Teachers using technology to enhance student learning. #lcsdprolearning#lcsdtech
@kusch39 @paigefulkerth In an ideal world, perhaps. In the meantime, I think the (hopefully meaningful) feedback, corrections, dialogue, and other forms of formative assessment that teachers give to students before a summative grade demonstrates the importance of learning.
@kusch39 Yes. Students are able to see more clearly how the skills they are building in class can be used to further their own goals, and explore their interests, when they are "in the driver's seat."
@rorquisttoyes I like the quote on technology being the accelerator. I've heard it described as a magnifying glass too; it magnifies both the good and bad in your room and incorporating more tech makes it even more important to be reflective about your teaching #lcsdprolearning
@EdmontonOilers we are excited that we have pledged to #EnergizeOilCountry over the next ten weeks. Our goal is 60+ minutes of physical activity a day.
One of my favorite quotes from Sir Winston Churchill has a lot of relevance to teaching, "You must put your head into the lion’s mouth if the performance is to be a success."

#12 days of twitter inspired me to reach out. @Kevin_Wood15, taught me grade 6. I remember he was always a calm presence, built great relationships with students, and there might have been some curriculum too. Thanks! #cncting4kids
Working more doesn't mean working better.
Productivity dramatically decreases with longer hours and drops off completely at 55 hours per week.
On average, someone working 70 hours a week achieves no more than a colleague working 15 fewer hours.
