@SPolk555 @thedobby22 I wonder how much we should be concerned about privacy and students when using Google. They are notorious for selling data and tracking. I'm not that concerned personally, but when we are making it our go-to, students wont have a choice to opt out. #tldeuno2022
A5: I feel like they aren't being addressed very well, at least in my experience. Students are given the technology but they may not have access to use them outside of school. Expectations should be shifted to in-school work and not home work. when using tech. #tldeuno2022
A4: every day. One thing we do is use a point system where kids who are following directions get 'tokens' and they can hear the 'ting' of the app - I personally don't like this system but it does seem to motivate students. Also we use it for demos and videos. #TLDEUNO2022
@hl_miller07 yeah, that's the thing. If they start hearing the 'tings' some students start looking around and trying to figure out who is getting points and then they want to figure out how many points they have, etc. that's why i'm not a fan. Still, my cooperating teacher uses it well.
@tmbuchholz Reading physical copies of books and documents is far superior in my experience. My eyes get strained very easily reading digitally and I'm sure Im not alone in this.
A3: So far in my experience in the art room, it has been easy to balance tech within the classroom. We use it for projecting demonstrations, short videos that serve as anticipatory sets, etc. I think technology plays a larger role in high school art - for me. #TLDEUNO2022
@Knitandreadjen I like that all of these involve quiet reflection time and not distractions. I think that technology could have a role in testing the waters but wouldn't be so good at addressing social-emotional issues. #TLDEUNO2022
I haven't used any tools yet to monitor social-emotional well being - as a practicum student I haven't had a lot of opportunity. have simply 'read the room' and have helped individuals out as needed. #TLDEUNO2022
@mslick100 Definitely! If students want to fully participate in the technological future, they will need to have an understanding of coding. #TLDEUNO2022
