@sapphicwinter@wrightham_88773 oh yeah he was going down before contact, your original post said no touch from gk which the one angle looks like but there was incidental contact after the dive started
@treysutton7@scottcoleman55 The refs are given directions and things to emphasize but still told to use their judgement so every game has different rules. Like strike zones before ABS but for every rule.
@sapphicwinter@wrightham_88773 can't match up your GIF with this which shows keeper hitting Kane's left leg... guess there's a glitch in the matrix

@JGent52 good list, lot of potential but not a lot known, so risky since they'd lose Elder or stash him in the bullpen. I do think/hope they bring Murphy up before the All Star break and give him a start, though imagine they'll send Waldrep down after his next outing.
@HammerTerritory@BTRowland Has their announcement strategy changed? Seems they used to do more moves on off days but now I wouldn't expect an announcement until just before Tuesday's game.
@Splinter_9@nut_history He slid right where the fielder's glove foot was so he was going for the fielder. If he wanted to avoid the play he could have slid toward the inside of the bag or at the bag, as any MLB SS knows to stay on his side of the bag for protection if not stretching.
@Tim_Brindle@mlbbowman Thought so too at first but Suarez was warming up at 5-2 before they added on. Guessing once Suarez gets warm it's like an outing for him.
@grantmcauley@RealAGon7 Same. Almost feels like the Mets or someone figure out something in Richardson's strategy, shared, and now the Braves are trying to course correct but not sure what to try.
@onitgoesx@DangerousDan10@TwinsAlmanac@montoyaajl@Grinder2003 Exactly. He's on a minor league deal with Long Island. The Atlantic League is independent and considered AA to AAA. The Nippon League in Japan is considered AAA to MLB level and he couldn't get re-signed there either.
@JeffFletcherOCR Batter gets a hit on a close play at first, turns left after touching first. Gets tagged out before the runner at 3rd crosses home. Base hit and no runs scored.
@HopeSpringsATL@CJNitkowski Not snarky to me. I think yeah they get an extra hitter or pitcher, but the rule is written to get an extra pitcher which is def higher value than an extra bench bat.
@JOtweats@mlbbowman No he didn't. He was DFA'd which gave him the right to seek guaranteed MLB job and money. His union pressures all players to do that. When he didn't get it, he came right back.
@nut_history I didn't like the rule and thought it was (or used to be) a homer, but it's growing on me. Esp. in the age of replay you can usually tell if the fielder was partially in play at the time of the catch, so it adds great moments like this catch, which baseball needs. Go Jo!
@TimsCardShop@_nateschwartz So train catchers to slow the game down and not return the ball until the call is made. That's a step backwards from everything MLB wants to speed up games.
@cameron_cobble@SultanOfClout@CodifyBaseball Plus Acuna put his hands down before the throw and was never out since the bag was never touched, so he wasn't interfering with a double play and should never have been treated as a non live runner. Interference is generally on a runner after he's out.
