I hope Iโm wrong, but Kotlin context parameters still donโt fully click for me. I can see the benefits, but something about the paradigm feels off. Maybe real-world usage will change my mind.
๐ข Kotlin 2.4.0 is out! Here are some of the highlights:
โ Language: Stable context parameters, explicit backing fields, and multiple features for annotation use-site targets.
โ Standard library: Stabilized support for the UUID API and support for checking sorted order.
โ Kotlin/JVM: Support for Java 26 and annotations in metadata enabled by default.
โ Kotlin/Native: Support for Swift packages as dependencies, updates on Swift export, and the CMS GC enabled by default.
โ Kotlin/Wasm: Incremental compilation enabled by default and support for WebAssembly Component Model.
โ Kotlin/JS: Support for value class export and ES2015 features in JS code inlining.
โ Gradle: Compatibility with Gradle 9.5.0.
โ Maven: Automatic alignment between Java and JVM target versions.
โ Kotlin compiler: More consistent inline function behavior during .klib compilation.

Hey, anyone from the @Sony KMP team? How does the Sony Headphones Companion app update its UI dynamically without app update? I remember seeing it about a year ago. What are they using under the hood for that? ๐ค
Why are some extraordinary engineers, who have done truly incredible work, working and building something amazing at hidden companies that almost no one knows about? ๐ค
@Pi_Mai@Sony Yes, even though it's clear that they use a server-driven approach, I'm more interested in the approach they took and the challenges they faced while implementing it.
There is a founder who has a really nice solution for KMP Android and iOS apps. I have seen similar solutions in Flutter become very famous, so I don't know why he isn't promoting it that much. it's about dynamically updating apps on the Play Store and App Store.
@tristanswire@FitWealthyU Yeah, the same thing happens to me. I just feel like I have much more potential than what I'm currently doing. It's unlocking so many doors for me that I can't believe it. Just eating less has made such a huge difference I feel like I was missing out on so much in life.
