I write Nigerian coming of age, youth and young adult fiction with a focus on characters that are hopeless romantics, unlucky-at-love, heartbroken yet hopeful.
who else has noticed how your story—which your beta readers or editors called trash,—suddenly becomes the best ever written literary piece when it somehow wins a reputable award or gets published in a reputable magazine?
Ibanga Isine, an award-winning investigative journalist, did a multi-part deep dive into the killings in Southern Kaduna. By the time he published his investigation, nine of his sources had died mysteriously, one after another. Ibanga eventually fled Nigeria and only returned after El-Rufai was rendered politically irrelevant by the Tinubu administration.
As for me, after my release from 162 days of illegal detention, I began receiving death threats. My close friend, Rev. Fr. John Mark, who had called weeks earlier to warn me to be on my guard, was abducted and murdered without any ransom demand. I fled Nigeria by road and only returned after El-Rufai left office.
Abubakar Idris, popularly known as Dadiyata, was not so fortunate. He never made it back alive after his abduction. The same tactics used to abduct him were used against me in Port Harcourt, but God spared my life.
If you think El-Rufai deserves sympathy, then you need to have your brain seriously examined.
Your husband never respected these rights as governor.
He violated mine for 162 days without trial. He is lucky that he even goes to court, some of us were abducted and kept without any form of trial until he was satisfied to let us free.
While I am against any form of persecution regardless of who it is being done to, I thought I should remind you ma'am that your husband was a dictator who never obeyed court orders that went against him and his ego.
“We used to have ghost workers, because we didn’t do anything now we have ghost agencies. Soon we will have ghost ministries, ghost governors & ghost president.”

First Lady, Pastor Mrs OluRemi Tinubu is yet to congratulate the Diamonds that made our country Nigeria proud in Rome & in Ivory Coast.
As the mother of the nation, the optics are bad!
Education should be the centerpiece of the Renewed Hope Agenda. Her media aides dropped the ball. They should get ahead of the curve. Education must be her jewel in the crown
This is time for the First Lady to shine effortlessly. Seeing the children's storybooks on her desk, I expected her to take the initiative; unless those are decorative.
You should leave nothing to chance. This is the perfect opportunity for her office to seize the moment. Without expecting Nigerian children to sing “na our mama be this!” for the camera.
The three wise men sponsored by Alex Onyia won 4 Gold at the STEM Olympiad in Rome.
The children of Ambassador’s college Ota alone, won 33 medals & received 1 honorary mention. The breakdown shows that Ota schoolchildren won 15 Gold (7 Global Best). They won 9 Silver & 9 Bronzes as well.
Graceland International School, Port Harcourt. received 4 Gold, 7 Silver, & 7 Bronze medals.
The children of Gonzaga Jesuit college Okija, Anambra state, won 8 Gold & 3 Silver as well.
In Rome, Gold na water. Nigerian children were fully represented at the STEM Olympiad in Italy.
THAT’S NOT ALL. Nigerian children won 3 Silver & 1 Bronze at the Pan African Maths Olympiad (PAMO) in Ivory Coast. A testament that School no be scam. Education no be scam.
Do all you must to send your children to school.
If you must borrow, please borrow! Give your child the head start they need. Early childhood education (ECE) is a right not a privilege.
Our children need supervision during their formative years. Help your children equally. Constant supervision is critical. Education is an investment. I promise you won’t regret it.
Also, those who can adopt children to train at school, should please do so. God in His infinite wisdom will reward your efforts when you give.
Henceforth, my job is to search for talents, & give them massive shout outs. The world must celebrate you. We must relegate Olodo Uprising & the attendant: rice, bread, akara, agbado, & kulikuli. It is time for Education to take over!
As the mother of the nation, education is right up your alley. The scintillating performance of the children ties into NELFUND as well.
At a time when schoolchildren from Orire in Oyo State & children from Borno State are in captivity, Nigerians could use some positive news for a change. The Office of the Firsr Lady is better positioned to deliver such news.
Dear @mehdirhasan
This lying double-mouthed dishonest aide called Daniel Bwala that you publicly exposed his hypocrisy to the world a few months ago, now claims Al Jazeera “apologised” to him over your interview with him.
Please is this claim true?
And if true, what exactly did Al Jazeera apologise to him for?
Dear Nigerians,
Pls retweet until @mehdirhasan sees this and publicly responds to clear the air.
Former CCT Chairman Danladi Umar, who was used by Buhari to remove CJN Walter Onnoghen from office, has been sent to Kuje Prison for bribery
Power is Transient!
The credibility deficit in Nigerian governance is so high that nobody outside of the government and its beneficiaries, believes anything coming from official sources regarding Gbaja, Adeniyi Adeyemi, and their phantom agency..🇳🇬🤔
This guy @seunokin is everything a journalist should not be.
Once a politician enters the studio, the only question he throws up is about Peter Obi.
Imagine having Ali Modu Sheriff, a man that has a lot of Boko Haram allegations hanging on his neck, and the only question you are asking him is about Peter Obi.
Anyways, since Wike revealed that they are on his payroll, I don't see him as a journalist.
Kudos to @ruffydfire and the other few professional journalists in Nigeria.
Femi Falana stated that Ali Modu Sheriff, the former governor of Borno State, founded Boko Haram. He was arrested in Cameroon over his links to the group, but the Nigerian government stepped in and negotiated his release. Falana challenged Sheriff to sue him if the claims are untrue.
Instead of olodo uprising, I hope from now, we begin to witness an intelligentsia uprising.
It is very pertinent for the next generation. We can’t have riffraffs running the society. We would have failed!
Let it be on record that the 3 most intelligent mathematicians on earth under 15yrs old are Igbo kids from southeast Nigeria.
Again, when e reach the turn of your region, encourage youths to fry akara or sponsor mass weddings & pilgrimage.
Ladies and Gentlemen of the World, Pls Meet Onyedikachi Ethan Egejurum. Age 11 yrs old. The best Mathematician on Planet Earth in the Primary School Category. A Maths Prodigy and Software Engineering Enthusiast. REMEMBER THE NAME. PlsRT.
