@RadioGenoa The cyclist (no helmet!). The Prius should’ve signaled and probably didn’t see the cyclist. After the maneuver, the cyclist stopped paying attention to road conditions, even taking his right hand off the brake, leaving only left-hand (front wheel) braking, which is very unstable.

Weather modeling & forecasts. Fisheries. National Ocean Service. Hurricane hunter aircraft. You understand nothing.

Obviously I don’t know every corner of the organization but you need to give some specifics. Otherwise your comment looks an awful lot like the typical bluff and bluster.

@myhightones @SlaySaguaro @Weather_West Really? Do tell!! NWS collects data, runs models, operates weather radar, produces forecasts (with many regional forecast offices). NESDIS operates weather satellites, processes the data for NWS, develops new products, archives data. NMFS, NOS, OAR, OMAO (hurricane hunters, etc)

A few years ago Craig McLean said “NOAA is a $12b agency trapped in a $5.5b budget”. Private industry don’t want to do most of NOAA’s job.
