“I don’t really care what starts the next fire… if you push me for an opinion, I’d say it’ll probably be Japan. Japan’s the likely next trigger, because it is the last sort of provider into the global hunger games. It’s the last guy still buying everyone’s else’s bonds.”

For the socialists that want a wealth tax.
Wealth tax increase in Norway was expected to bring an additional $146M in yearly tax revenue.
Instead, individuals worth $54B left the country,
leading to a lost $594M in yearly wealth tax revenue.
A net decrease of $448M+
@Millair444@Philip_Britton I truly believe on a net net basis this policy will cost more than they will raise in VAT receipts. Not just from middle class families pulling children out of the private system, but international students (of which is a huge market) choosing more preferable destinations.
@Philip_Britton@andrealeadsom No form of education should be taxed. No form of upskilling in this country should be taxed. Such a shortsighted policy. I truly believe this will cost the government more than they will collect in VAT receipts.
@Philip_Britton@andrealeadsom Those that chose to send their children to private school already pay for, through taxation, a slot or two in the state system. Those parents then choose to give those pre paid slots to others, and pay more for their own children, yet now penalised further. Madness
@ronjonbSaaS Subjective question from a risk adjusted perspective. The individuals time horizon answers this question. Short term, sell (take profits). Long term, hold. IMHO NFA
@thesiriusreport Let me ask this… Which worldly activity burns off excess currency creation quickest? Answer: War! Build a tank (with all associated costs), blow it up… zero productivity. Zero return on investment. Currency creation requires War to bring us back to equilibrium.
@RishiSunak@Conservatives Exactly that. I believe I speak for the majority in that ‘we’ are pro legal migration and appreciate true refugees (not economic) should be helped. Illegal migration in which we know nothing about the individuals is a recipe for disaster.
@Cobratate I’m from the UK, and the BBC must be the most bias, agenda driven news outlet in the country, particularly when it comes political issues, and somehow majority publicly funded. The semi intelligent see right through it, the masses do not. They are an embarrassment to our nation.
@NevaAyer@Spriter99880 War is deflationary… how else do you burn off trillions of USD with nothing to show for it? Stimulus needs to go somewhere. Without it = Hyperinflation. QE puts it in, War takes it out. Simple.
@PaulCR_ @Jacob_Rees_Mogg It seems you have an inability to listen. Irrelevant of who’s presenting the issue, and whether you vote Labour or Tory, it’s a bipartisan problem, and a big one! Without people paying in, the system breaks. That’s fact, irrelevant of how hard you’ve worked and how you feel.
@Jacob_Rees_Mogg A great piece, highlighting a fundamental and important issue, with ‘outside of the box’ thinking in terms of solutions. Honest, data driven debate is what we need, with radical change. Unfortunately most politicians actions are driven by shorter timelines (election cycles).
